Ummm, Len, how much extra did they charge for a "left-handed" leaf blower?! And what, pray-tell, makes a left-handed leaf blower different from a "right-handed" (note that I didn't say regular!) leaf blower?

I am pretty ambidextrous ~ maybe it is because I have played piano since age 4. You have to have both hands working in harmony for that :D A few guys I have dated were southpaws and whined depending on where they were seated at the table. I just  and ate with whatever hand wasn't being jostled by the neighbor ~ although I never have noticed a ton of elbows interacting anyhow, and I worked at the firehouse for almost 10 years, if firefighters aren't bumping elbows eating quickly, who is?! Plus I write with whatever hand is free at the time too...

I honestly don't know what the price difference is. This was what my US II teacher told me during my junior year of HS. He was left handed. The difference lies in the "backpack blowers". The tube on pretty much all of them is on the right side.

Oh I have addressed my issue with Rutgers. According to them, the desk comes far enough across that it will allow optimal writing space for a left handed individual. They did admit that the desks are intended primarily for righties, but claim they are still capable for lefties. Also during finals they claim there are 50 chairs that have left-handed desks in the gym. However, the gym holds about 1,200 during an exam. That 4% of the desks made for lefties while about 10% of the adult population is left-handed. Finally, being a lefty at Rutgers is considered a disability.

Oh, hadn't thought about the backpack kind. I was just thinking about our pull start and choke and that you just stand on one side or the other depending on which hand you use to pull start it!

Keep trying at your school, a lot of colleges have tables and chairs which make a whole lot more sense since those accommodate almost anyone. You have to stand up for what you believe in...

I know what you mean about the blower, Amy. My blower and electric hedge trimmer can be held in either hand - they're not like the back-pack blowers with the tubes on the right. I tend to buy my equipment and tools that are designed not to favor any hand specifically. That way the right hand members of my family can equally use it as well as the left-hand members.
