Happy 2009 to those who have already passed midnight.

As for the Times Square madness, last night it was extremely crowded and there was not even an eighth as many people as there are tonight.

Times Square my be busy, but it's amazing how quickly the area clears out. there's a couple of large subway stations in the immediate area and TS is where alot of the hotels are within Manhattan.

anyways, happy 2009 to all...

Happy New Year!

Did anyone see Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve last night? Who was that strange blonde girl with the southern accent that was one of the hosts? She was unwatchable. I have never wished for them to switch to Ryan Seacrest before!

that was Kellie Pickler who replaced Marysol Castro who was correspondant from 2005(6)-2007(8). read more about past DCRE at this link.

as for Kellie, I didn't think she was that bad. She brought a youthful presence and peppy personality to the show (and she's not bad to look at, either).

and what about Dick? He looked better than he right after his stroke, but he still sounds terrible. at times, I thought his speech was unintelligible. frankly, I'm surprised that he hasn't fully retired yet. I guess he's really living up to the title, "The Immortal Dick Clark"

Yeah, it was sad to see Dick Clark almost mess up the countdown. It's sad to see what became of him. I miss seeing him as the one freezing outside in Times Square.

The funny part for me was to see that country singer take off her jacket in the 20 degree weather and 2 degree wind chill factor. Now that is either stupid or brave.

well, she is from North Carolina, so she probably hasn't experienced cold such as that. she just wanted to feel it first-hand...

I saw the CNN countdown with Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper but I missed the countdown with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest. It was different seeing it on CNN since I'm always watching ABC though it was great either way.
