I'm surprised there are so many artificial tree fans here, I never realized that they were (apparently) more popular than real trees. We always get the real tree in my house, although growing up we did a fake tree half the years and a real tree the other half.

I'm surprised, too, as most of our friends get a live tree - but a lot of people are moving towards articifical. We have two amazingly lifelike prelit artificial trees that are hard to distinguish as fake.

By the way - one of my best friends just went to artificial this year after a spider's nest hatched in their live tree last year and they had millions of baby spiders in their family room!

I can hear the multitudes of people who read this post switching to artificial trees as I type

this story about spiders sounds like a urban legend...

well i'm surprised too..
i will have a real one this year...
my parents catch a fake some years ago and it was... well cleaner in house but...

well he wasn't really good and finally he was loosing its needles too so.. :p

but some times they put a real one outside the house

but this year should be the real one inside as my niece can watch it all she want without catch a cold (she's 2yrs old)

We just picked up our tree this weekend and have it decorated and all set! We got a 6.5 foot Noble that is pretty sweet, if you ask me . We also picked up a nice natural wreath for the door as well.

real for the memories, best time I had helping my mom put the tree into the "VW bug" sticking out the roof!

We have a fake tree, but if I had my choice I would get a real tree every year. Though probably not the best idea with a 6m old lab puppy
