Yeah!! Was it just me or am I the only one who got upset when she killed off SB (I'm giving the whole name just in case no one has read it.) in the 5th book.
I've gone full circle on my avatars.

I would be so happy... but I would hurt her for making me cry. I was crying when he disappeared.

I thought that JK said in an interview that SB is definitely not coming back. Maybe that's somwhere in the Lexicon...

You weren't the only one. I had two friends that cried for hours because of it.

...I think Rowling has said that she cried herself - as she was writing - when she realized SB was going to be killed off.

Have you ever heard the song "* * *" by Zak Morgan? It's actually sort of a hidden track after one of his other songs, but it's a really clever Harry Potter tune (The * * * are because it's real name is Voldemort). Look out for it if you get the chance. I haven't met a Harry Potter fan who hasn't loved it, yet.

wow. just wow. now THAT's the way to end a story and make you want to come back for more.
I finished reading it at 5:07 this morning (eastern time) after reading ALMOST non-stop (all the way from 12:00AM on Saturday when I got it besides the 4 hours I was passed out.
now I can't wait until the 7th book comes out (then what will we do?)...

I agree... GREAT read. Lots of questions to be answered in book 7...
I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read the book yet, but it's even more emotional than year 5.

But, thankfully, not as angsty

Hahaha. In book 5 I actually liked Angst! Harry for a bit, then not so much later on. This weekend I went to a Harry Potter midnight party thing. Funny thing is, I only went cuz my cousin didn't want to go alone. I should've bought it then, but I thought I could wait a few weeks till I get back from vacation. But yesterday my cousin finished the book, as well as a couple of other friends. So I just bought it today and will start shortly.

I've gone to the midnight parties for the last 2 books (books 5 and 6). for both, as soon as I got the book and got to my car, I'd read the first chapter (usually about 10 - 15 minutes or so) before leaving. luckily, I live literally right down the street from the bookstore (Media Play), so it only took me about 2 minutes to get home. Then it was non-stop reading until I passed out (about 6 hours or so), slept for 4 hours, then non-stop until I was done. took a total of about 29 hours. got it at around 12:05am on 7/16.05, finished at 5:07am on 7/17/05.

Wow, that's pretty hardcore. My cousin usually sleeps around 11pm. So for the past few weeks, she has been staying awake until 4am. She was training to stay up later so she could finish the book in one sitting right after she bought it. Didn't work though.
