We saw it last night. We really, really did not like it. I think Michael Bay did it way too much like Pearl Harbor where there was too much focus on the drama and the stupid love triangle that no one cared about. By the end of the movie, I felt like I had seen about 30 minutes of Transformers and two hours of these stupid kids that I couldn't care less about. I only know one human character's name, and that just barely. So, that should say something about the character development.
They rushed the Transformers part and at times, it was hard to follow. I'll probably be in the minority, judging by the reaction of the theater we were in. But, in all, I think the movie was very poorly put together.

Based on opening day receipts you're right (as being in the minority) and if the opening weekend is as strong, expect the sequel.SWHorn wrote:I'll probably be in the minority, judging by the reaction of the theater we were in. But, in all, I think the movie was very poorly put together.
That's a selling point for me!! Though we'd need a baby sitter to go... we don't get to too many movies anymore. I think we've been to two since having our daughter 10 months ago.Croaker wrote:my wife liked it.

I was pleasantly surprised by it. As i said when i started this thread. I was very concerned with the direction i thought the movie was going. After seeing it Tuesday night, i left liking the movie. I still was not a big fan of the design of the transformers. I thought making sure each had a nose and a mouth looked pretty ridiculous, and i think Prime even had a mustache. But overall, cheesy lines and robot designs aside, i still thought it was a fun movie.

I thought it was a great movie. A little campy at times, but the story was compelling and, of course, the action and visuals were fantastic.

That's basically what i thought also. Although i was a bit disappointed with Jazz. I'm pretty sure after seeing the initial numbers on this one that there's going to be more of them too. Wondering who we'll see in the next movies. Maybe Blur, RC, Hotrod / Rodimus Prime, Galvetron? Also did anyone else notice that at no point did Optimus say "Autobots, transform and roll out." That was one of the few lines i was looking forward to. I got the "One shall stand, one shall fall" line i was hoping for.subsonic wrote:I thought it was a great movie.
