Do you play a musical instrument?

I don't have any formal training, but I love to dabble on the keyboard. I just like to figure stuff out on my own. I'm still much of a novice.

Well lets see where do I begin... I have been playing the trap set since I was 4 years old. The trap set is just your standard drum set. Then I picked up trumpet in my elementary school band for 4 years. That was after freestyle percussion lessons and the standard recorder that we all have to learn. Now I'm teaching myself the Ukulele. That's pretty tuff, but I'm slowly catching on. Oh and I play a mean air guitar!! LOL!

I took piano for 10 years. I know how to play two songs on the banjo... and a few chords of the guitar. That's about it.

Hey, I just remembered! I kind of DO play an instument! I have my TAP shoes and I make music with my FEET! Two years ago my tap students did a MEAN acapella (my choreography!) And the best thing about tap shoes (and Juba for that matter).. you don't have to know how to read music!

Oooh, tap dancing! Makes me think a bit of Kermit (answering that age old question - can the frog tap dance?). I've always wanted to learn tap and it is definitely a musical instrument!

Did you get a video of that mean tap choreography?

Percussion, drumset, drumline (quads or tenors in Marching Band)...

I just looked at the pictures of the three of us again by chance last night and I started laughing as I was thinking of some of the things we all said.

In grade school and middle school I was first chair clarinet. But, I always had a passion to learn the piano. After I was married I took piano lessons. But, my then 2 year old decided she liked the piano. I gave up my lessons. A few years later my daughter was taking lessons.

I am a concert pianist and composer/conductor. I taught music in secondary schools (ages 11-18) for four years before giving time fully to composing.

flute and piccolo - Tubby the Tuba caught my imagination and my heart since my older brother played the tuba and I was a Pee Wee to him!
