I have an extreme fear of bees (apiphobia). I'll get nervous just by hearing them or seeing a picture of them, and it's weird too because the last time I got stung was when I was hiking in the woods and I felt a prick in ankle. I thought I walked into a thron bush and didn't think anything of it. When I looked down and saw it was bee I flipped out.
For some reason I just don't like to get into a lake all alone, but it has to be out in the deep. Not sure why I don't like it, but my mind tells me NO!
I get that feeling also, I don't like being in a natural body of water where I can't touch the bottom. Like there's a giant squid or something down there waiting  . I'm fine in pools though.

I probably have the weirdest phobias out of everyone. The first I'm growing out of but I used to be very afraid that puppets, and mostly marionettes and ventriloquist dummies would come alive.

My other I still have a phobia of, but overcome it whenever I need to and that is the fear of very large things in very deep waters. I get very very uncomfortable looking at video or pictures of the Titanic underwater and don't like watching whale movies.

I've had this fear that when I'm standing on a hotel room balcony, my body will override my mind and I'll fling myself over the railing.

Oh yeah, the only good spider is a dead spider!

I actually had a phobia for the Haunted Mansion theme song, "Grim Grinning Ghosts," for the longest time. As a kid, I watched this video with the song, and I don't know how, but I just became deathly scared of it. (Vivid imagination, I guess). I still feel a little bit uneasy about it when I hear it, but not as much as I used to. Whenever I go to Disneyland, I can only go on Haunted Mansion once, and it has to be in the day.

I am also terrified of bees/hornets/wasps/wood bees/buzzing ingeneral. I was stung by a wasp when I was young and my foot got infected because the poison didn't dissipate. Same thing happened to my little brother only it was in his face. Everytime he put ice on it it would move (cheek to tongue to throat). We have a ton of wasps in my backyard and they divebomb me when I'm near them. I hate them.

This one isn't a phobea but I can not stand being the farthest out when I'm swimming in the ocean. I feel like a target, lol.

I have an absolute phobia of roaches. I have had it all my life, and it can be quite a hindrance to normal life in southeast Texas. I've thought about seeing someone about taking care of it, but I have been afraid of the possible methods of removing the phobia.

I found this website: here that gives a definition for diagnosing a phobia.
No fear hath ye of evil curses, says you.
Arrrrrr.
Properly warned ye be, says I.

Circus clowns. No idea why. I'm not afraid of them I just have a totally unreasonable and unjustifiable deep seated hatred.

Mimes are fine, :) , just those clowns.

I have a fear of open high places. I can go up as high as I want as long as I'm not at the highest point. I've been up to the top of the WTC and was fine because of the tower on top. If I go on top of a building and there is nothing above my head hieght I freeze up and almost can't move. It's strange.

Spiders do me in. I scream something awful every time I see one and my instant reaction is to smash it. Ugh, I can't stand them.

I have a kind of phobia of deep ocean water. Just thinking about the amount of life that's below you when you're out in the water in the ocean is truly awesome. A couple of years ago, I did some archaeological work out on the CA Channel Islands, and I thought that I would have to sit in the middle of the boat on the way over and not move. But once I actually got out there, I was fine and had a great time being on the front of the boat as we spread by. We also saw a couple of whales, which was really cool. I still don't like the idea of deep ocean water, but I find that I'm okay when I'm actually out there. darn Jaws did me in :P

Have you seen the movie "Open Water"? I don't think I will ever try scuba diving after watching that one.

yeah, that one was great, because while I was watching it I kept on saying to myself "yep, that's what I'm afraid of". I actually love to surf, and try to go to the beach every weekend, so I'm not just afraid of sharks or the ocean in particular, I think it's just the vastness of it all that gets me.

I'm afraid of spiders, but I wouldn't count it as a phobia. As long as they're not bigger around than about a quarter, and not furry, I'm more than happy to moosh 'em myself. There was one in our bathroom earlier this summer, though, that was about ... 4 inches across but about ... oh ... 7 inches from front to back? Yeah, I ran like hell, phobia or no.

My only irrational fear is of large fish, specifically, being 'nibbled' on by them. I'm not talking sharks, I mean more like groupers and stuff. I watched the video of my husband doing the dolphin encounter thing at the Living Seas, and the woman beside him kept brushing her legs because the little fish in the tank were nibbling her legs. Scary.

Bah... sharks are fun! :) As a diver I swam with them many times, and must say to see a shark in its natural habitat is very impressive.

Hmm lets see the biggest phobia I have is anything medical, have massive panic attacks in any kind of doctors' offices. Oh its fun...

And I'm also not crazy about clowns.. its not a phobia.. Just think they are all drunken losers that can't get real jobs.

I would love to go diving with sharks! I love learnign about them and think they are amazing creatures. I'd imagine that being out there with them would be amazing. Where have you gone to see them?
