Well, she couldn't write every detail into the epilogue. I can't wait to see it as a movie.

i know, its just that i would have liked a few more details than what was given. i know i really cant wait to see it as a movie either!! the book was fantastic i thought

I heard that the epilogue was cut a bit since the editors thought it was too long. I wonder if she will release the unedited version in the future...

actually, she said she "probably will", but nothing concrete yet. right now she's taking a break from writing, and she's planning on 2 new books - 1 for children and 1 for adults, due out ??.

I'm sure Rowling is tired of writing. She certainly has enough money to never have to worry about working again. If she will write a new book, she will start in a few years.

I don't think so. js3901 is right. JKR said that she is currently writing two different things:

"I'm sort of writing two things at the moment," she says. "One is for children and the other is not for children. The weird thing is that this is exactly the way I started writing Harry. I was writing two things simultaneously for a year before Harry took over. So one will oust the other in due course, and I'll know that's my next thing."

Okay, well I heard differently in another article. But perhaps she was only speaking of Harry Potter-type books.

Yeah, I would imagine it's a bit of both. She's going to take a break for a little while (who wouldn't, after all that). But, she's still "working" on some stuff and will probably get something out sooner than later (meaning the next couple of years). But, who knows? She probably doesn't even know.

I suppose she could theoretically be writing just to fool around with her two new ideas, rather than pitching them and signing a contract, etc. Maybe that's what she meant by taking a break - she does say she was writing the other thing with Harry for a year before Harry "took over". So perhaps she just has no plans to make another pitch to her/an editor for a while?

Though I've seen her contradict herself sooo many times in interviews I wouldn't be surprised if she just said one thing one day and one thing the other.
