What drink and what with it?

Post by Croaker » Apr Wed 16, 2008 4:52 pm

no i'm not practicing ebonics...i just saw the thread on Eggnog and thought about coffee for some reason. whats coffee got to do with eggnog? Good drinks...so when you want to sit down and relax...what is your favorite drink or drinks that you enjoy and what do you snack on when you enjoy? example....every October i have to have Apple Juice (or cider) and Ginger Snaps...its just an eastern tradition i grew up with.

i have three favorites and it all depends on how lucky i am...

Coffee: for some reason i love a good cake or cookie with a good cup of coffee. hard for me to just drink coffee without something cakey and sweet.

Boost: (not the old-folk-need-nutrition drink, but the syrup mix from Riverside N.J.) when you have this...you must have tastykakes! any kind of tastykake!

Birchbeer: oh man living across the river from Philly was a treat all by itself...but now that i live in the west these people are ignorant to the great taste of BirchBeer!!!! i can buy Boylan's at a specialty shop for $2.50 a bottle. ouch! i need nothing to eat when i have a birchbeer!

what's this!? no birchbeer out west!? wacky, but cool thread, I'd love to see where this goes...

Foxon Park Birchbeer and pizza (preferably from some New Haven or East Haven resturant  )

This one is rather weird but on sunday mornings when there's plenty of time to make it all...
Chocolate Milkshake with a ham and cheese omlete

Milk and cookies (duh! :P )

Lady Grey with walkers biscuits on Wednsday er... Thursday nights while I watch LOST :D

Tea is the preffered beverage of choice in the morning and during the day. Coffee is more of an evening drink either with or instead of dessert.
Lattes or Dunkin' Donuts' coolatas are the best forms of coffee.

Then of course Apple Cider during the fall, Egg Nog in the Winter and Pink Lemonade in the Summer

In the summer, Citron and Lemonade over ice. By the glassful. It's the only time and hard alcohol I like.

At Disney, bottled water excep fot Epcot days. Then it's beer around the world.

I, too, am seasonal in this respect.

Spring: Squirt (grapefruit flavored soda)

Summer: Birch Beer - it's hard to find even in Indy!

Fall: Beer (or rather Bier) - need I say more?

Winter: Scotch or hot cider with cinnamon. Can't do the sweet of hot cocoa anymore...

Anything at WDW goes down pretty well all year-round! :mickey:

I'm not so much with the seasonality. I continually confuse servers in restaurants by asking for hot chocolate in July (lots of places don't have it in the summer, which baffles me - if you have coffee you can have other hot drinks - but whatever). Most of the rest of the time it's Dr. Pepper, Tim Horton's coffee my mom ships me from home, tea or water.

I'll drink Dr. Pepper and water with anything (literally) but I do like cookies to dunk in my hot beverages, especially tea and hot chocolate. Yum.

*sob* I miss that stuff! It was a staple the year we lived in Hamden. Birch Beer is plenty hard to find around Atlanta too. My husband does a little happy dance whenever we find some.

I'd really hate to think you've only got about 4 months to live, Croaker!

Liberty Tree Tavern was the first place I ever had Birch beer. It's been a long-distance relationship ever since!

I have no idea what Birch Beer is. You Yankees are weird.

This is an interesting topic that I will have to think about. But, I do know that I just can't go wrong with a good glass of Iced Tea. Pregnancy is making life a little difficult for me with not being able to drink caffeinated tea when I go out, but I'll try to make it through the summer.

"sun tea" and iced coffee on the summer. A good hot chocolate in the winter. And for the ballgames at Fenway, of course a cold beer to wash down a Fenway Frank or three!
