this year is light, all because I'm making less money than on previous years. Should be back up there next year. Right now, it's the 50 - 10.00 range. Next year should go up to around 250.00.

Boy, this one is really dependent on where you are in your life cycle. I have three kids, a spouse, and two sets of parents to buy for, so our budget is higher than what a young person just buying for his spouse/girlfriend would be. I figure I spend about a thousand on everybody combined. If I added in the cost of the three big dinners I host for different sets of families, it would probably be higher--but I don't want to think too hard about it or I'd start saying bah-humbug.

Mine ranges around a thousand. I only have my two brothers, sister-in-law and nephew plus my sister-in-laws sister's two children. I love to get some really special gifts for the kids. My nephew does not have any grandparents on my side of the family so I really try to make up for it. It's the one time of year that I really go nuts with the kids! I love playing Santa Aunt Eileen!

My wife has $500 taken out each month from her pay and put into a credit union savings account. We use it for various fun things, but the Oct, Nov, and Dec are reserved for Christmas. I think we spent that plus a little from My Christmas bonus. I haven't totaled up all the purchases, and frankly, don't want to. :-) Too scared.

We have a VERY large family and we always buy everyone a gift. In my immediate family there are 43 members ranging from 79 to 18 months. Hectic at Christmas but it wouldn't be the same if it was quiet. I've actually checked the wrong box as I forgot it was in dollars!!!!! :?
