I've always been a Nintendo fan, but had opted out of getting a Game Cube because it did seem underpowered. The Wii, though, is the next gen game system, in my opinion. Yeah, PS3 has Blu-Ray and a better graphics card, but that's it. The Wii has a revolutionary way of playing and good internet connectivity.

Nintendo is going back to it's roots with the Wii. Yes, it's not going to look as good as the xbox or PS3. But all in all, it's the same games over and over again with different names and better graphics (90% of the time). The Wii is offering something unique, a new way to interact with the games and that makes it very fun. This is why games like Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar hero are so good. They offer something unique.

I haven't owned a console since the Super Nintendo. I wasnt planning on getting the Wii. But every one of my co-workers that has one says the Wii is fantastic.

The Wii also offers upper body exercise. I've never seen some of my friends move so much until we played the Wii Sports. Sad, I know.

I received my Wii yesterday. Been playing a little Wii Sports and Zelda. Now I need more controllers, Monkey Ball and Wario Ware.

the BestBuy near me had a couple of Wii systems in stock yesterday when I went there. They also had a bunch of the Wii remotes and the nunchuk controllers on the rack for like 39.99 or something like that.

Wait, knedeau, aren't they dancing kittens? I've got it too and I love it. It's very crazy. I'm surprised they didn't put a warning about not playing if being prone to seizures or heart attacks.

Monkey is a really great multiplayer game with all the mini games, but the real game takes some time getting used to with the remote.

In Monkey Ball I could not get the puzzle game at all. I couldn't get how to aim the remote. I love the fruit game though lol

Monkeyball didn't do enough remote testing. A lot of games are difficult to control. But, at least half the games are good and even better with 4 people.

Recently my wife and I got a Wii to go along with my PS3. To be honest I had originally told her i wanted to wait until at least march to get a PS3, but she had got one for me for channukah and once i had it i couldn't say no and return it. I tore it open right away. We stumbled upon the Wii in at the end of January. We were trying to find one for my father-in-law for his birthday b/c my mother-in-law wasn't having any luck finding one. We we found on and while looking for an extra controller stumbled upon another Wii. When that happened my wife got it as an impulse buy b/c she knew i was very interested in it and thought she would enjoy it also.

In my experience with both consoles they seem to offer a very different feel. The Wii i see as a great party console. I'm worried that for single player games it just won't be as fun. I know their's LOZ:TP, however that's really it as far as well reviewed single player games, and it was originally designed for the Gamecube. We'll see what comes to it in the future. I'm also a bit shaky on the online gaming that you will see on the Wii. Nintendo has always lagged behind in online play. It just doesn't seem to be one of the things their stressing in their console. Where as MS and Sony seem to want you to interact with people all over the world, Nintendo seems happier with you just interacting with the people around you. Not that that is necessarily bad. I do think the wiimote and nunchuck work well for some games Rayman and Wii sports are tons of fun, and a good workout.

I still however see the PS3 as my main gaming console. R:FOM is awesome, and Shooting free throws with the Sixaxis in NBA 2K7 is cool too, but doesn't feel gimmicky. It also seems that Spring will be a huge boost to an underwhelming launch. With Europe and the Aussies getting in the game, and lots of great looking titles like Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter, Lair, Calling all Cars, The Darkness, and Heavenly Sword, it can only get better. The only real question mark I see with the PS3 has nothing to do with it gaming capability, or the game lineup, which both look good and will continue to get better. The question is about the Bluray drive. Now i do own 3 movies on bluray, and i have to say the picture quality is great. I just don't know if the general public is ready and / or willing to accept either bluray or HDDVD as a next gen format. It looks great on my 55in HDTV, however on a SD tv set, it really won't make a difference. What do y'all think about the next gen formats? Sorry to ramble on so long.
