We had been taking our lights off the tree and the next year we would replace half of them because they didn't work. The last few years I've been puting the tree in the basement with over half the lights left on the tree. Since we've started this, I haven't had to replace any of the lights on the tree. I still can't figure out why.

We have a fake tree too. I'm allergic to pine... so it's either fake tree, or sinus infection.... I do light scented pine candles though... to get the smell.spaulo wrote:My fiancee shudders at the idea of a fake tree... both her parents and my parents have them, but she insists on the needle-dropping reality.Jacca5660 wrote:We have a fake tree, my DW breaks out if we have a real tree!!!!
We haven't started decorating yet... I was gone the 1st week of dec, and then two days after I got back from Disney, I got rear-ended at a stop light by some bozo from Massachussests... So....now that I'm not so sore in my back and shoulders, we'll probably decorate this weekend. I can't wait to put up the lights in the front yard! WOOHOO!

Sorry to hear about the accident Kelly, and glad you are doing better. This weekend, At least down here in Philly, will be nice, about 54 Saturday and 65 on Sunday. I hope it isn't freezing up there this weekend.knedeau wrote:We have a fake tree too. I'm allergic to pine... so it's either fake tree, or sinus infection.... When I first started reading your post I was thinking of the scented candles too. Same page again.
Edit:
My parents put theirs up on Tuesday and then I had to start decorating the top, since I'm taller than they are.js3901 wrote:we have a fake tree too, but instead of the candles, we found an evergreen scent for the glade plug-ins (actually the air wick brand). fills the whole house with the pine smell. very strong.
when I got back from WDW, the tree was already up. I tried looking for the lights for the house, but couldn't find them. oh well...
And by the way I publicly apologize to you for taking to many pics while we were there. It came out to 918 JS, and 4 videos.

Heheheh. Yeah, there's nothing like waking up to the smell of roasting pine to make one hungry! hehehehDr. Ravenscroft wrote: When I first started reading your post I was thinking of the scented candles too. Hmmmmmm will have to try that..... much safer than candles. Good tip!js3901 wrote:we found an evergreen scent for the glade plug-ins (actually the air wick brand). fills the whole house with the pine smell. very strong.
