2006 Winter Olympics

Post by Beaker » Feb Sun 12, 2006 11:58 pm

Did anyone else see the opening ceremony of the olympics? I thought it was quite impressive-bizarre at times, but mostly impressive. I really liked Pavarotti at the end on a pseudo-opera stage. And all the fireworks and presentation kind of reminded me of IllumiNations. Anyway, I did not see the choreographed ski-jumper and can't find it anywhere online. Does anyone know where I could find it?
Meep meep meep.

Eh, I want my three hours back from that. I only liked it when the car pulled a doughnut and the lighting. I much prefer the Summer openings. I miss the Athens opening.
I've gone full circle on my avatars.

Watching Shawn White take the snowboarding gold was cool. Those are some talented folks.

A buddy of mine who does video work for ESPN was all ticked off that Teter/Bleiler took 1-2 in the women's halfpipe... both of them committed to XGames this year, ESPN tossed a ton of money and manhours on promos for them, then they bailed. We were rooting for Kelly Clark. Oh well.

And poor Apolo. Falling down on the shortrack? yikes.

I saw his run last year, and it looked like he just got a little excited and lost his footing. Doesn't he have more runs. I can't wait for the rest of hockey to pick up. I love watching the women hockey but the men's they check.

My favorite part of the opening ceremony (other than the rad F1 Ferrari doing donuts) was when the people suspended from the ropes formed the shape of a dove with their bodies put together.
