The only thing my team can beat is their Father in law. Oh boy we really need a full blown house cleaning in the Winter. New management, and a lot of changes in the front office would be a great starting place.

We hear that every year coming out of Flushing (insert obligatory joke/pun about the Mets circling the drain here). After the collapse in 2008, it was time for an overhaul. After last year's disappointment, everyone must go!

As for the Beloved Sox, they're about cooked. Too many injuries took their toll.

Although they are getting just what they need right now.... the Angels are in town! 8-0 this year against Madame's boys. I expect they will just roll over like the dogs they are this week in the Fens!

Jacca - The radio this morning was saying that Damon thought it would look bad to all the young players on the Tigers if he ran off to the Red Sox. Don't know if that was from him or just speculation though.

That is what he said. Publicly. There were some whispers that he still has some hard feelings toward Boston management and the fans. Apparently he wasn't too pleased with how he was received here when he came back in a Yankee uniform and hadn't let it go yet. There was mention of jerseys he saw in the stands that had replaced the "a" in his last name with and "e" so they read "DEMON" and that the fans had gone from calling him Jesus to Judas. His feelings were hurt.

I've got news for Johnny... the fans here would boo the Pope if he played for New York. You want to fast track yourself from the penthouse to the outhouse in Boston. Leave here via free agency and take more money from the Yankees than the Red Sox offered. Some fans here are hypocrites. They know dang well that if another business came to them and offered 25% more money than they were making now for doing the same thing, they would leave toot sweet and either send for their things or just tell the old place to toss them out.

It's always a double standard kcarts. We get blinded by our loyalty to teams we root for and expect the same from the players. In actual reality it is just a business to most of them and they are going to try and better themselves any chance they get.

The Braves are amazing!! They made a 10-2 lead become a 12-10 loss!! Great going guys!! We traded for a short stop with power, yea the power to lead the team in errors!!

I hear you Jacca, the Phils had been playing with 1 to 4 minor league'rs since the 7th game of the season and now that they have ALL the starters back they lose 4 straight games, to the Astros!!! Bring back the nobodys who were actually contributing please!!!

I figured with the way the Braves have been playing at best we should have a half game lead. How in the world did we gain a half game? That's why John Smoltz calls it the shoots and ladder division!

Wow, ya know... I haven't kept up on this thread because I honestly have no clue as to what's going on, but I feel like I've been missing out on some fun. Truth: I stopped following baseball years ago when my Astros traded Nolan Ryan to Dallas. Talk about a stupid move! So I don't even know what's going on these days, or who is who... I don't even know the names of the guys on the 'stros roster!
I used to follow the Pirates many many years ago because my dad did. He was actually a pitcher on their farm team, but gave it up to marry my mom. Can you believe that?
Anyway, I don't really have anything constructive to add here. Maybe someday when my 'stros start playing like a real team I might get into it again...
