Polynesian environmental sounds

Post by BleuLlama » Jun Wed 20, 2012 1:21 pm

Hey all. I'd like to make a request for a new recording. I was at WDW this past winter, and one of the sounds that, in retrospect, I wish I had recorded, and is not represented on the site is just some ambient sound from the Polynesian.

Basically, what I'm looking for is 30-60 minutes of audio (stereo preferrably), from either by the pool, or in the walkways between Tokelau, Rapa Nui and Tahiti, at night. I believe the patio behind Captian Cook's, by the pool also might work.

I'm looking for that magical combination of crickets, mostly silence from guests, the area music (if any) and the tiki torches.

Anyone willing to record this would be greatly appreciated! :D

All of that, and part of me is still there.

For what its worth, I will provide all recording equipment (a DV Camcorder, which you can use however you'd like on the visit, external microphone and enough DV tapes for recording what I want and for your trip use.) Heck, If you shoot a lot of vacation footage, I'll even throw it onto a DVD for you if you have no way of playing DV tapes when you return. :)

That would be an awesome addition to the site. Polynesian Resort is indeed my favorite of all the Disney resorts since my first visit in 1982. Would love to just chill to a track like that. '

Great idea!

I had some friends visiting in September, but one of them came down with some pretty hefty sickness, and was out for a couple days, so they didn't make it over to the Poly for me.

I have figured out a good recording setup, consisting of an old 5th gen iPod "Video", a Belkin plugin mic adapter and a Sony stereo microphone. Fairly compact, easy to drop in a shrub for an hour or two, excellent audio quality.

If anyone is willing to record, I'll gladly send you it all for recording. :D
