Instrumental "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"

Post by David » Apr Wed 15, 2009 8:34 am

I joined the site a year or so ago, but did not frequent it too much until lately when I discovered what a true gem this place is for us who love Disney park music!

I was watching a video on YouTube the other day that had a really nice instrumental arrangement of "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow." I've looked around the site and did not find it, but thought some of you more experienced users might know of it, or if it could be added. Here's a link to the YouTube so you can hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGKZRDa8jZg

hmm.. I don't think I've heard that version before. I know that we have an intrumental version in the form of the Space Mountain concourse (Disneyland - Tomorrowland - space mountain concourse - great big beautiful tomorrow).

it's a slightly different version, though. I'll look around and see if I can find a version like the one in the video...

I'm reasonably certain this is from one of the "1964 - World's Fair - progressland" tracks. I know that "music to buy toasters b" has a segment that is very similar, if not the exact same thing.

Thanks so much. As you noted, this version is quite different from the one in the COP, but it's a nice change.

I have these tracks somewhere in my personal collection and I'm 99% sure this is correct. There's a few versions of GBBT in there, most of which have that elevator-y vibe to them (in a good way).

Srik and DisBeamer are right, it is from the Worlds Fair collection but it is not "Music To Buy Toasters By". That one stands out as a sort of Overture to the main Carousel melody. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the track in question without voiceover.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

There is a instrumental version I listen to on Utilidors that is about 5 minutes long- they have it listed as "Carousel of Progress-Progressland Spectacular." :mickey:
