Main Street Electrical Parade

Post by 31 year old child » Oct Mon 25, 2004 1:44 pm

I see special editions of the parade music, but nothing with the older parade music. Circa 1975-1990's I wish I could be more specific, but I do remember having an old 45 with the recordings. There isn't anything that more accurately depicts Disney in my mind than the Main Street Electrical Parade of old. The new parade is ok, but nothing like the original.

You run an excellent site, and thank you for your prompt reply.

I can't tell you how many memories this station brings back.

Thanks!!!!!

Sub, either you've already added it, or I missed it when searching before. Regardless, I found it. Thanks again!

Nope, didn't add it!

Learn to search better. :)

The recording there is the one off the Fantasmic CD which included the Electrical Parade. It includes music that was taken out later. Like the Snow White & The Seven Dwarves section.

I have the original 45 from WDW Main St Electrical Parade. Also, I have the LP for America on Parade at WDW. If I could get my turntable working and hooked up through the computer to record it, I'd certainly share a copy of it here...

Is your 45 purple in color? Just curious to know if it's the same as the one I had.

it goes from a light/mid shade of blue to a dark blue/purpleish color on the outside edge and has drawings of the floats along with the "Main Street Electrical Parade" sign/icon type thingy from one of the floats and Mickey with a magic wand.

I'll take a picture of it and post it when I have time...

here are a couple of pictures I just took of the 45. Sorry about the quality, I'll try and get something better in the morning when I can get some good light.

I had a vinyl recording also. It was the size of a 45, but it was actually a 33 (with a small hole). Under the clear vinyl recording surface was the label depicting the lead unit of the parade.

Looks like I need to break out the old turntable or look for one on ebay.
