Request System.Enhancement.Mass Requests

Is there a way to limit mass requesting? I love the point system limiting the amount people can request...but I"m afraid that the more frequent posters with lots of points abuse their ability to request. I logged on just now, and the queue is over 20 deep by one person. Perhaps if you could only request so many tracks every hour, or if you could only spend so many points every hour, or based on length of time on the tracks.

Yeah, I agree, though the Pal Mickey tracks (which I believe you are referring to) were only like 90 seconds total. Though they felt like an hour... Probably don't need to change the system though. People are good at not hogging the system for the most part.

I see it all the time, and with longer songs. The My Pal Mickey thing was just the straw breaking the camels back.

I like being able to request a lot in one stretch so I can have background music to study to. I totally understand where the Pal Mickey would drive anyone crazy though!

This issue has been discussed recently in another thread. I can't find it though, and I even searched. It probably went off topic from the main topic title. Anyways, it's on my list as a potential addition to limit the number of requests in a given time. I'm still debating if it's necessary or not. Right now I'm more in favor of limiting then not.

I agree. Number of requests is better than total time of requests. Otherwise, certain tracks would never get requested.

I don't think a limit is needed. Right now It just makes a person wait a little longer for there track. I don't think this is a problem. Just enjoy the other songs while you wait. Pretend it's a radio like the name says.

I've seen too much of an issue, seems like it was a while back but it has gotten better. But you are right, a dozen or more Pal Mickey quotes would be reason enough to kill the speakers for a bit!

Maybe the point value of the extremely short tracks could be raised. Say make the 1-2 minute things the least, then have the 2-5 minute ones, then the 1 min or less ones, then the 5 min or more ones. I think it might deter the extremely long and the extremely short.

The point values are the length of the tracks, so why would the values of the shorter tracks need to be changed?

I'm only suggesting that the extremely short tracks get increases, because I've seen where 20 or so My Pal Mickey tracks, all like 8 secs long, get queued in a row. I just think it will help improve flow. Leave the points based on length of track...just change the really short one's to even things out.

I don't think it's an intentional abuse of the system, just a by-product of how it is set up. For the most part, I enjoy listening to just about all tracks on here (sans Pal Mickey) so whatever works best I'm all for - perhaps we all should just live by the golden rule?

sort function

This may not be the right post for this...but its close enough.

In the request section...it is currently sorted alphabetically. Is there a way to set it up to sort the items by other features. Like number of times played, points cost, length of track. I'm not saying anything crazy like What park its from and junk...But I'd like to see what the least played/most played tracks are...maybe request some of the lesser heard tracks because maybe I don't know what they are.

The 25 most requested tracks info can be accessed from the home page. But I agree there should be a way of viewing the least requested songs in order.
