Ok how about we DON'T call people out in a public forum?

Might I remind everyone, this is a free website maintained by volunteers who donate their time and resources for us to enjoy? And might I also say, in light of the most recent events in this country, someone hogging a request line for a day is the least of our worries?

A little perspective here is needed.

If you have a problem with something someone is doing, I suggest you (1) go to that person yourself, privately, through a private message on here. The site is set up such that a notification is emailed when a private message is received. If that doesn't work, then (2) send a private message to one of the Admins explaining what you have already done, and what you would like to have happen, and why you think it's necessary.

Let's act like adults, not overgrown middle schoolers.

Hello my name is Subsonic and I stand by cy1229's post.

In the Slack chat, we often talk about request abuse and handle them accordingly. As cy1229 said, it's best to come to the chat and let us know there so we can take care of it. Calling people out doesn't help.

Thank you

i apologize but i see that you guys set up rules and they just dont read them or dont care. i see it as a slap in the face to the good people who run this wonderful site. maybe public shaming wasnt the correct way to go about correcting the issue, but im new to the boards and im sorry.

One of the users you referenced joined yesterday, so I sent a message explaining the request etiquette. May I humbly recommend that you do something similar in the future? To the tune of "Hey, looks like you're new here, that's cool, I just wanted to let you know..." keeping it light and friendly.

No harm no foul.

muffinhands, I agree. I wish people would be considerate of others more. That said, the point cy1229 and I are trying to make is handling the abuse should be handled by the admins.

I am seeing more and more abuse of the system and perhaps it time for me to add back in the limits. I know people in chat have been nagging me to do so.

I've started calling the abusers Subsonic Terrorists. However, that said, posting in the chat is the best way to solve the problem. There will always be abusers, but the mods generally do a good job of taking care of them.

However, I do wish there was a way of getting music migrated to other channels. Maybe I'll start a thread about this issue.....

Nevermind! I found one that was already started. :)
