Larger the file, more points right?

Just wondering, although I read a little bit on this site, is that the bigger the file size you request -- in minutes -- equals the points you have, correct?
So, when I heard "walt disney world - animal kingdom asia - area - loop 01 35:47" earlier today, Tuesday, it would take me a lot of points to request a song like this on the site?
I'm a newbie, in the parking lot, with just a few points. How many posts do I have to make on the site that would measure up to a 37 minute clip?

well figure at each post would get you 10 points so in the clip you mentioned you would need 2147 points to request it. In the
PlaylistSection of the site it tells you the amount of points you need for each song. what you do to get the amount of points is
Code: Select all
minutes of song x 60 = Points A
Seconds of song = Points B
Points A + Points B = Total points needed to request
So it breaks out like this in the song you mentioned
Code: Select all
35 x 60 = 2100
47 = 47
2100 + 47 = 2147
I hope this has helped you

Cool, so that means that I need less than 300 points to request a large file like that.
When I heard the Asia ambient loop from Animal Kingdom, it was something else. I felt so relaxed. I wonder what the music will do to me when I finally visit WDW again after 12 years. Last time I was in Orlando was August 1993 and Disneyland in 1999.
I've got some catching up to do. In the interim, SubsonicRadio.com will have to do, as well as VMK.com lol.

Yeah some of the files are rather large. The Sci Fi file is the one I'm after, but it's almost an hour I believe so I have to be at the mercy of other folks or if I'm lucky the Random player.

GoofyInOhio, if I have the points available and you want to hear it at a certain time, let me know and I will request... I won't have enough points until late tomorrow now, but in the future, post here with a date and time (I listen weekdays from 8:30-5, pacific time) and I will see what I can do for you.

If you hang out as a regular in the chat room, Sub and a few of the others have been know to take requests for people short on points.

I would be more than happy to request something for ya, or pretty much anyone for that matter, as long as the person has posted at least a few times. A date and time would be good. I don't always listen to the station, but I'm always on the forums. I check in from time to time around 5pm-12am pst.

I don't mind putting in some request for people depending on how they post in the site. I have all the forum e-mails that I recieved forwarded to my web enabled cell so I try to get the replys asap.
FYI: My total points as of right now is
12320

I'm in the same boat. I mainly read the forums, but I don't request much. Usually, when I listen, I just listen to whatever happens to be playing. When I do request, it is usually one of the longer loops.

Since My work Banned internet radio I can't listen anymore so I don't request anything really anymore unless at home I will do sections so you can hear it the way it is supposed to ( my favorite is the illuminations, What i do is do the announcement that in 5 min it will start do some basic prep music for 3 min than do the 2 min warning than the opening and intro which take 2 minutes than I play all 4 tracks for illuminations in a row.) Would be cool to have all of that put into one long track it would sound so nice.

I hate hearing that work has banned people from listening to music. Usually it makes people more productive.

I end up listening to Disney music that I have already but its annoying to hear the same thing over and over again. And since my Office is in the Server Room it is extremely loud in here and with out music the hum of the machines along with the AC will drive you Crazy

I play my Subsonic at work and I can hear my boss in the next office humming along or singing to one of the tunes like Yo Ho Yo Ho, or Its A Small World Afterall.......

so I guess he doesn't mind it. I do know that when certain things come on, he will say "what the heck is that? It must be on your Disney station!" I know when the tribal drums and stuff like that or Figment comes on, I usually mute it, cause he nor I can deal with it......but he has never told me to turn it off, if he did, he would suffer the wrath of me pouting and that's not a good thing!!! ha ha ha
