I'm sure that you are much more knowledgeable about this than I am but I don't see how playing a portion of the track instead of the entire loop would diminish the quality.

While I'm not volunteering to do so, using open source audio editing software Audacity, you can read, edit, and write MP3s while controlling bitrate and other quality settings. No quality loss occurs simply from the act of editing the digital file.

I know how to do this sort of thing and would be more than happy to contribute this request for all the listeners if it's cool with subsonic and the other moderators. I edit my own mixes and definitely know how to seperate tracks.

What do you think??
