Thought it might be fun to share our own work from the Animation Academy. So share if you dare!

I'll start with this one...drawn well enough that I think you know who it is ...
(I need an eraser! The ear on the left looks like it is decayed!)

But the best part is as I walked out, Mickey was there, so he signed it!

Looking forward to seeing others' work!

This is fun! I will have to take some pictures of our artwork and post! You did a fine job on Mickey!

Thanks, but I really have not a lot of artistic skill...it is fun to see everyone's drawings at the end of the session, and see how a LITTLE instruction from someone who knows what they are doing - can lead to huge improvements in the outcome!

If I had to draw Mickey from scratch - heck, even if I had to trace him - it would not turn out as well as when I draw something at the Animation Academy!

I have two others from DLR that I will post after I get pictures of them...

I posted these latest drawings in my trip report, but I know it might have been a longer post than some people wanted to read...Here are Figment's and my attempts at Scrooge McDuck ~ that was a new character to us to try to draw!

Thanks, but Mom and I are just good at following the excellent instructions given by the CMs drawing in the front of the class

Strangely enough I have gotten Goofy on the last two times I've done the Animation Academy. You could tell the different styles of the animators based on how different the two Goofy's look. The first one is the standard Goofy that everyone recognizes while the second one has the more "animated" look to it.

At Disneyland, they post the schedule for the day outside the Academy. Lots of people lining up for Olaf when I was there!

Anyone prefer being surprised as we are in DHS, or would you rather know the schedule ahead of time?

Nice job Big! We also drew Goofy and it was different than the two you have! It was a front facing Goofy!

I think I would rather know who we are going to draw. We got Olaf on our past trip and we were not happy, haven't seen the movie yet. We'd rather draw a character we're fond of!

Wow ~ totally didn't see the sign when we were at DCA. That is a hard question. I would think it would be nice to know what character is going to be drawn so you could skip it, or plan to go to a certain class if you really liked it, but it is sort of fun to be surprised too. I don't think DHS has that many different characters in their rotation. I would be curious to see how many different characters DHS actually does do!

Olaf is perfect example. When I was at DLR, I hadn't seen the movie and drawing him would have meant nothing to me. Now, I would enjoy drawing him that I know who he is.

At DHS, once or twice, the animator asked us for input on who we got to draw. Sort of like..."which are you more interested in, classic mickey, or dumbo..." and based on our response, he drew that one. That was sort of cool...

OK, from DLR in October, I went twice...

Oswald was interesting in that the animator talked about -- if you drew his cheek and chin extending out beyond the circle of his face, that is a "more modern" rendering of him.
