Re: "Rapid Fill" Mugs coming to WDW Resorts
I have heard recently that it's not all the refrigerators being pulled, only the ones installed within the past two years (due to a manufacturing defect) but all have to be checked.

My wife needs a fridge for her insulin. She gives herself two types of insulin 4 times a day. I hope that they don't expect us to run to the central office every time she needs her meds.

If you call ahead of time, Disney will accommodate you. Disney is trying to replace the refrigerators when no one is checked into the room. It's kind of hard right now since many of the rooms are occupiedGoofyfan wrote:My wife needs a fridge for her insulin. She gives herself two types of insulin 4 times a day. It is no wonder they have problems, even without a manufacturing defect. When we were there last, the maintenance CM dragged the fridge in by the electrical cord and pulled it around the room like that until she found an outletCardinals314 wrote:I have heard recently that it's not all the refrigerators being pulled, only the ones installed within the past two years (due to a manufacturing defect) but all have to be checked.
Yes, I'm sure they will make every effort to accommodate a medical need. That is why we need one as well ~ for F1gment's meds. And when we check out the morning we are leaving, they have a fridge in the bell services to hold things that need to stay cold as well.Cardinals314 wrote:If you call ahead of time, Disney will accommodate you. Thank goodness....That would be soooo inconvenient.

I think those are some steep prices for the new mugs. I thought the fixed price for the mug was fair and you could use it no matter how long your stay. Disney will always keep figuring new ways to get money from you!

And I think that the are only 8 oz. Not very big to hold much.

That would be one of the abuses they are trying to curb.

I would be more likely to purchase 2 mugs if they weren't so outrageous!

I think they are included if you're one of those people that buy the dining plans.
Speaking of, how do they stop abuse of that program (ie splitting)?

Soda is not really one of those things a business should worry about abuse on. It's syrup and water, and you make dollars on the penny with the stuff. That's why 7-11 and the like can do a liter of cola and still only charge $1.50 or so. I think selling more plastic is the idea over saving on soda.

For sure, and what better way to make more money than by making sure everyone has to buy their own beverage?

Makes sense, they want to sell more mugs!
Don't they eliminate the sharing issue with the dining plan by making everyone in the party have the dining plan? Maybe I'm wrong, we haven't done the dining plan since our honeymoon in '06.

I'm not sure if they automatically force you to have the dining plan for every member in your party or if you can select (usually the option is buried in menus) to have only select members of the party have the plan.
