Starbucks Coming to the Parks
It was just announced on the Parks Blog that Starbucks locations wil start opening up in both DLR and WDW starting in June. It states the locations will match the themed areas, but to me it seems like a repeat of the McDonalds. I just don't like the commercializing of the parks and think it's a bad idea.

Yeh, it will match the themed areas, I'm sure. As there's a Starbucks almost on every corner, it wouldn't be surprising to find a Starbucks just outside Belle's cottage or just outside Mt. Everest...

Is it any worse than all the other sponsored establishments? From the start there have been food service places owned by outside interests, such as the Aunt Jemima pancake house, McDonalds, Dole, etc.

Hard to say how I feel about this. I'm kinda with Len on the commercialization aspect of the whole thing... but at the same time, I do appreciate a good cup of Starbucks Joe, and appreciate being able to get it inside the parks. I can see it now: arrive at Epcot, get a cup of coffee or a Latte to warm up and get going, later go to La Cava Del Tequila for a Jalapeno Margarita to cool down, then later when the afternoon nap attack strikes, another cup of Joe to wake up again, then later back to La Cava....

I'm not a big fan of Starbucks. I don't drink coffee but I'm not fond of something that big encroaching in the parks I suppose. I think they will be wildly popular though...

Good point! Yeah, I would be sad to see the Starbucks logo start taking over things toodstrawn9889 wrote:as long as everyone is waiting in line for their double venti mocha latte --thing... and i can get to SM faster, IDGAD. as long as the wh--starbucks logo stays off the mouse... then i am cool, and closer to the front of the line in the morning

Why bother? Isn't the park's own coffee good enough?

My Mom certainly likes the coffee at WDW. I don't know that she will pay extra to get a Starbucks coffee either...elizabethswann wrote:Why bother? Isn't the park's own coffee good enough?

It's not very good, but I think the main reason they have the deal is for the milkshakes aka Frappucinos. Starbucks has a very tight grip on them.elizabethswann wrote:Why bother? Isn't the park's own coffee good enough?

But I've heard from lots of people that Starbucks' coffee tastes "burnt"...Wizzard419 wrote:It's not very good, but I think the main reason they have the deal is for the milkshakes aka Frappucinos. Starbuck's isn't that much better, but it's better than Brothers (I think they use them).

That's true, sometimes it does. But if you like your coffee strong enough to fight back, then you don't mind it.Amy wrote: But I've heard from lots of people that Starbucks' coffee tastes "burnt"...
Of course, when it DOESN'T taste burnt, it's divine!
