lets try that again, Goofy... 600 miles is no picnic for a 'quick' roadtrip... maybe amended to 'one tank of gas from WDW have all the luck'...

Tell me about it. I was sort of sad when I found out my Dad was offered a job in Atlanta but didn't take it when I was little. Imagine how much more we could have gone to Disney living in Georgia than Michigan!!Goofyfan wrote:You Southern people have all the luck!!!redstomr63 wrote:Oh yes. Not really.. I live in the south, but I am still 8.5 hours away... so I can only get there once a year..
And to answer the OP's question, yes. I was a fan LONG before the internet. I went for my first trip in either 1985 or 1986 and I was hooked from the start! I still have the Figment plush that I got that many years ago. a shame that his yellow shirt is gone, but what are ya gonna do? I was a kid and he got played with.

Absolutely! Grew up right along with Disneyland, going at least once a year, watched The Wonderful World of Color every week, which frequently got you all hyped about plans for a new attraction, then subscribed to Disney News, and finally, sure, the internet. I do remember planning my first trip to WDW just using the Birnbaum book though; wow, did that get dog-eared. Really enjoyed the descriptions and insights.
