When Walt was alive, he was the only one in the company who was allowed to have a mustache and Disney was very reluctant to allow men in the company to grow one.

One person in the company who is allowed to be different is Joe Rohde (Imagineer in charge of the design of Animal Kingdom) who has a full goatee and an earing in one ear (if a man's ears are pierced, they are not allowed to wear earrings on-stage).
I'm guessing once you get to leadership level you can pretty much do what you please. Same with the contractors that they use when they flesh out concepts in imagineering.

Actually, now that I think about it, the rule probably only apllies to theme park employees since cast members could complain to the labor board about it.
No one who works for Disney (excluding probably third party construction workers and maybe some other third party employees) is allowed to sport a beard (except Joe like I mentioned earlier). That goes for CEO, Animators at the Burbank Studios, and other "behind the scenes" employees you will never see unless you work for the Mouse in a backstage position.

Sounds like the Yankees. That ruins Disney for me.....

But here's a picture of a Disney employee who needs to fired immediately.....

Wow that is arcane and stupid, but whatever.

I always thought that the rule only ever applied to the parks since the news articles only mention the parks in relation to it. But I would imagine if you were high enough up/valued you could tell the HR to take a flying leap... wait a second, someone get me photos of their IT dept. If they are anything like any IT dept. I've ever seen it's full of people that look like Gandalf rejects.

It would appear that the facial hair rule is mere urban legend......

Disney Relaxes Facial Hair Rules

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Worried about finding workers in a tight labor market, Walt Disney executives are relaxing the company's long-standing ban against theme park employees having facial hair, The Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday.

Mustaches will be OK, although beards will still be taboo.

Walt Disney adopted its clean-cut code for Disneyland employees in 1957, requiring men to be clean shaven and to keep their hair short.

Yeah, again it's only about park stuff. I'm still pretty sure that the rules don't apply to people working at corporate, or WD Interactive, etc. I know a few people who use to work for them and the dress/apperance code was "As long as I can't see your junk, you bathe regularly and your clothes are clean it's acceptable".

I just watched the parade and I thought Santa looked pretty good ~ the whole parade is just basically one long commercial for Disney...

Yes.... buy stuff! :D

To be fair, every major televised parade seems to be that way.

They had performers and all, so if you liked the singers then you would enjoy it, but other than that it was trying to sell you vacations at the various domestic resorts.

Not to mention the Cruise Line.
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”
