Well that is a bit disappointing, but look back in the thread at who called it! I even nailed the saying :D

My opinions, just another fancy celebration to pass the year until the MK turns 40. I am thinking the 3PM parade will be changed to "Memories of Dreams Come". :D

I already am not a fan with the photo projections onto the castle. I really thought thy Disney had learned their lessson with messing with the park icons. Think about MK 25th castle, SSE, and the Chinese Theater.

Well that was the biggest FAIL I have seen in years. They really need to get out there and learn from Steve Jobs about how to do an announcement. Very intelligent of them to release the press kits an hour before the press conference starts. Plus THAT was the announcement? Ugh Why did Disney think that this was the one thing everyone wanted to hear? Why couldn't Disney include Spain in EPCOT, DVC news, or something we all didn't already know? They mentioned World of Color, which ha been "playing" for months now and has been seen by more people than DCA had as guests in the first year it was open. They also mentioned Aulani, DUH you mentioned that at the last conference. Then they talked about the cruise line which they also announced at the last conference. W T H DISNEY???? Next time there is an announcement maybe we won't watch it.

And seriously Tom Bergeron??? Was he drunk, or just high during the event? When he got up to talk to the family in the front row I was hoping he wasn't going to say something derogatory or inane when 10,000 people were watching live. The only good note was seeing Micheal J Fox, everyone in the chatroom for the event was saying "OMG I didn't know he was that bad" "I can't watch him, it breaks my heart" Personally I think he looked great. Yes the parkinsons has progressed, but what did you expect this is what it does, he was still able to speak and articulate what he was saying.

BAH, I am done here. I don't want to completely bash the event, but they could have done 10x better.

Well, that was extremely lame. On the plus side, it did give me something lame to riff on in real time via Twitter. I'd never done that before.

I thought Michael J. Fox looked fabulous! There have been other times when he looked waaay worse!

I guess the only reason why I think the idea of the projections is kinda cool is because during "Remember Dreams Come True" (the fireworks at DL, for those who don't know), they project several thing on both the castle and IASW (and I think even in Frontierland) at several points during the show. I like it...

Then, back during the (failed) holiday show at DCA "Luminaria", kids were invited to draw pictures throughout the day and those pictures were displayed during the show at night. Kind of a way to let the kids feel like they contributed something to the show.

Now with this new show, the kids will be excited that they are actually a part of the show by having their picture of them with Mickey (or whomever) projected on the castle. I would hope that there would be fireworks, music...etc and they make a production out of it because otherwise, it would be dumb.

Just MHO....

Anyway, I was not surprised that there was no major announcement to the level of new parks/lands. It's not prudent to build those at the moment since there is no visible end to the lower rev streams.

Still, this isn't the worst they could do. With those McDonald's ads for happy meals, they have noted they donate a portion of the proceeds from each one sold. The part they don't mention is that they only give a penny per item sold, but the ad campaign hypes them up (and probably cost more than they donate) to make it sound like a fortune is being given.

Did I call it, or did I call it...? *sigh* I hate it when I'm right about something like this. I'd much rather have been pleasantly surprised... *double-sigh*

As long as the "what will you celebrate" balloons from however many years ago are taken off the Monorails and buses, I'll be happy.

We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

I had a meeting called today at 1pm off site and was upset that I was going to miss this. After reading this, not so upset anymore.

Yes, but they might be replacing them with photos of strangers having fun throughout the parks. :D

We already have a thread titled "nap-worthy attractions". I believe that it is now time to begin one called "nap-worthy announcements".

Why do all the Disneyland announcements sound cool when they're announced (such as the DCA expansion, World of Color, and so on...) while most of the WDW just seems sooooooo anti-climatic. Why am I not disappointed in the fact it's another disappointment?

If you remember this is a international announcement. They want to do this at all the parks. They actually didn't say anything about WDW and the Fantasyland expansion or any new things there, other than projections on the castle (which is a whole other rant). IASW in DL will get projections and Cinderella's castle will too.

Personally I don't like him or what he does in life, but you have to admit they manipulate the media perfectly.....for now ( /me smells blood in the water)

He's starting to lose his grip though and turning into Howard Huges with his crazy behavior. That probably has a lot to do with his impending death and desire to have some major legacy.

The balloons are done with. They never even bothered to put the balloons on any of the buses that were delivered for 2010. I did ask about that and they said those buses will never have the balloons.
