Why would she be embarrassed? Is it that good? In that case we really must insist on the Kona danceMousekedude wrote:I'll see if I can get Mouseoholic to record it and post it when it happens. I don't know is she's willing to see me embarrass myself like that over the internet, but we'll see.

Re: Kona Coffee
Went to Trader Joe's this past weekend and saw they have a pound of 100% Kona for about $17. I might pick some up next time I am over that way. I don't have a French press though...so I wonder if it would be worth it.

100% Kona for $17???? That sounds like a steal to me! I'd pick up several lbs. of that. Kona is still excellent even when brewed non frech press!theBIGyowski wrote:Went to Trader Joe's this past weekend and saw they have a pound of 100% Kona for about $17. Re: Kona Coffee
You have to beware of some places that claim they have 100% Kona. My friend who just went to Hawaii did some research and found a real interesting fact:
He visited one of the producers in Hawaii and found that they have records of exactly how much is produced and shipped to the mainland versus how much is sold on the mainland, and guess what? There is a huge difference! There is actually waaaaaay more so-called "Kona" being sold in the States than what the Islands actually produce! So bottom line is, you don't know if what you're getting is really genuine. I imagine if you read the fine print carefully there has to be some way to find out. For example, some of the "Kona blends" I've seen are only 10% actual Kona if you read the fine print! So 100% genuine Kona would no doubt be very expensive.
By the way, my friend brought me back a couple pounds direct from the producer. Yahoo!!!! I'm in coffee heaven!

That's interesting M-Dude, I'll be sure to read the fine print if I buy some Kona! Usually when it's around $40/lb. it's the real deal. But, doesn't hurt to check it out further.
You wanna share some of that Kona delight with us?!?!

$40 for a LB? Is it just Kona Coffee or does it contain another of Hawaii's exports?boilerbabe wrote:That's interesting M-Dude, I'll be sure to read the fine print if I buy some Kona! Usually when it's around $40/lb. it's the real deal. But, doesn't hurt to check it out further.
