I think kids will be accepting of the new talking characters. The ones that freak out when they see them now might not be so freaked out when Mickey can talk to them - or maybe it will be even worse...cool technology though. I'm sure the characters will have to stick within accepted phrases.

For those of you find this idea kinda creepy, you could be experiencing a mild case of automatonophobia.
Yes, it's a real world it means the fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues, etc. Anything that falsely represents a sentient being. One of the principal reasons for it is the lack of real human body language and/or real human facial expressions.

I suppose robots and faceless images/statues go in that category too...

That would be me. I'm fine with watching it going on in movies or television shows but in real life? That'd freak the heck out of me.mindflipper wrote:For those of you find this idea kinda creepy, you could be experiencing a mild case of automatonophobia.

I saw a couple youtube videos yesterday linked from screamscape.com. I think it looks pretty awesome. It definitely makes me want to go see Mickey now, when I never would have bothered unless there was no line at all, and then only maybe. The fact that you can actually have a conversation with a character is pretty amazing, even if it creeps some people out. The kids in the videos seemed to love it.
