Sure, but for a good cause for only two months. Yes, every bit counts and I'm so glad Disney was able to get people out there to make a difference. But I wonder how many who registered will or have fulfilled their volunteer assignment? Or how much more could have been done if Disney had said 2 million or 3?

Perhaps they'll bring the program back in the fall ... but so much more could have been done. In my humble opinion, the opportunity was squandered by executives not willing to take a bigger hit in their wallets for a good cause. Though perhaps I'm just being too critical ... or a little upset because my job has me out every weekend, every year in January and February. And along with my graduate work during the week, I wouldn't have had time to volunteer until now and didn't want to sign up for an opportunity two-months in advance and risk having to cancel.

Oh well.

I wonder about that too. Aside from the accomplishment of volunteering and making a difference in the community, are they going to go empty handed or are they going to still get it for volunteering early? Would they still be added to the mix if they scheduled their day long before they're going to do it?

I wonder how many people signed up and now aren't going to volunteer because there aren't any ticket left? Maybe Sub can give play points for volunteering! As a site we could mobilize the masses! We could have Subsonic meets at volunteering sites all over the country! Better yet we could get other Disney sites involved. If we could just get all the die-hard Dissers volunteering, well that would be a very large amount of people!

I really wonder what will now happen with all the people who signed up too. I know it was promotional and eventually the number of volunteer tickets would be reached. However, I think it would be a smart move for Disney to extend this promotion. They are still most likely making money off of the people since they are buying souvenirs, snacks, food, etc. Also, it really shows how popular it was that they ran out of Tickets in March after around 6 months of running the promotion.

They could at least give the tickets to the people still signed up.

Think about this though-If Disney had only done it because of the cost of letting in millions of people in for free would've really killed revenues and whatnot for them, then why didn't they keep it going, because I know that if I got a free ticket, I wouldn't just head down to WDW for one day and only go to one park! Trying to decide between the four parks is way to hard for me to do. I would go to all the parks! i would've bought tickets for the other parks and most likely stayed in an on site hotel! Imagine if everyone had done it that way!

From my understanding, if you are already signed up you are part of the 1 million volunteers. That's how they controlled how many oportunities are available, 1 million.

From the beginning Disney was up front that they werer doing this until a reached a million volunteers. All of my initital e-mails stated that. I'm very excited Disney has reached a million!!! They point was to make people aware of volunteerism. I think they have accomplished their goal very quickly.

but the Give a Day, Get a Day only lasts 2 months.

Hmm..........I think you hit into something!!! It's silly that it only lasted two months and 1G people. You know almost everybody using a ticket is going for a multiple day trip and are going to spend lots of money! These are Disney prices there are paying. You figure Disney makes it's money back in Geometric Proportions!

I'd love to know the average distance for WDW or DLR that the volunteers where. I'd also like to how many tickets really got used. Does anybody know how long you have to use your ticket?
