the Disney Smells are a great thread.

Disney Sounds is another great topic. For me, I'd say it's the following (not in specific order):

- the monorail door beep/bong sound when the doors open
- the loud sound that Big Thunder Mtn. makes when going up that first incline after load-in
- the "Swisspolka" playing inside the Swiss Family Treehouse
- "Paging Mr. Morrow....Mr. Tom Morrow" announcement on the TTA (Peoplemover)
- the "drum sounds" coming from the giant wooden Tiki carvings in front of the Jungle Cruise
- the sound of strollers going across the Adventureland bridge

A few of mine:
- The fanfare that plays when you arrive at the MK via bus
- The song that plays when you arrive at AK
- The animal sneezing on Splash Mountain
- The totem poles in Adventureland

One of my least favorites though is the "If this is your last day with us, have a safe journey home." part of the monorail spiel. Even if it's our first day there, it makes me so sad. :(
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

I'm always happy when I hear the monorail announcement as long as it isn't our last day  but yeah, it is sad if it truly is your last day at the parks before leaving :(

I've tried to make a few ring tones but I guess I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to do it. I've got the Haunted Mansion sounds, and I actually made one from Up and Tangled, but they only seem to appear for use with my countdown timer on the clock app in my iPhone ~ weird. Would love to figure out how to have fun Disney text tones instead!

There are several sounds that mean WDW to me:

The "Please stand clear of the doors" monorail spiel and the "bing bong"
The general background bustle and area music
Stacy and the "Must Dos" playing on the tv in the room

But what I absolutely love to hear and what means I'm officially on vacation is the train's steam whistle.
"Park's closed. Moose out front should have told ya."

iPhone 5 ~ any help would be greatly appreciated. Someone here made ring tones out of the Disney Dream horn sounds and I'd love to be able to use them :goofy_bounce:

The sounds inside the windmill on Tom Sawyer Island is a very memorable one to me. Also the wolf howl in the queue at Haunted Mansion. Or Test Track, outdoors, standing under the track as one of the cars circles the building overhead at top speed.

My Disney Sounds:

- Clock chiming inside Haunted Mansion before going to seance room
- Banjo playing inside Pirates of the Caribbean before the first drop in DL
- The "bing bong" chimes of the monorail when the doors close
- When Main Street's music loop plays "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" since I think of Wall-E every time
- The roar of the Yeti in Matterhorn when you can hear it while walking by (this was before the most recent refurbishment)
- The low hum of the spaceship inside Space Mountain's loading platform in DL
- The jazz music playing throughout New Orleans Square
- The whistle and bell of Mark Twain

These are all I can think of at the moment since I know there's more.

The bayou sounds at the beginning of POTC
The re-entry tweets
People screaming at the big drop when you walk by Splash
The sound of the Train

I'm going to have to find the Smells thread now... :)

Sadly, I have never really paid attention to the sounds. I was always more about the sights. After this station though, I will pay more attention to, and appreciate more the sounds surrounding me when I am there. :goofy:

The sounds have always been a big part of my Disney experience. You're are definitely right that this site helps make everything more familiar ~ plus it is so fun to listen to when you return home and are feeling a bit blue!

1. The sound of the monorail pulling in.
2. The sound of the boat horns on any of the lakes that the boats go on.
3. Me laughing like a child
