All the music is what makes it for me...everything else is an added bonus.

On a side note...how many of you listen to "A Window to the Magic Podcast"?

Most of the audio is geared towards Disneyland, but it still is a great audio adventure through the parks.

I think that is the most important and distinguishable background music. However I tend to agree with dmxwidget in that all the music does it. I am really amazed to see that time and time again how huge of a role the background music serves. It is really the thing that completes the theming. It is also fascinating to see the music transitions between two differently themed areas.

Great thread, Madeye! And funny enough as you mentioned in your opening post I have the Star Tours tone as my "text" notifier on my cell phone. I think of it every time I get a text!

I'll put up the sound of the boats travelling around the Boardwalk, they are so subtle but something would be missing if it wasn't there.

I love the sound of the Magical Express luggage doors shutting. That means, we're on our way!

That's at the airport though, right? If it was at Disney, it would mean you were leaving instead...

Glad to see I am not the only one who has WDW/Disney ring/message tones on my phone.

I personally think most of us have at least one Disney ring tone. I know my brother is Soarin' and any random call is Spectro.

My DH is Pirates "Yo Ho" and when we're at WDW, I change him to the Monorail doors. :D

I had the Disney whistle for when you return to the park on my phone for a while but got rid of it. I had some of the Club 33 songs on there too but now I may add them back.

Yes, MadEye, it's at the airport. Usually, I'm too depressed to take notice of any sounds on the way FROM Disney.

I just had a jet fly over my building and it made me flashback to the sound effect of the jets flying past in Soarin'.

I agree, the background music and the differences in the areas is so cool. I also love the steamboat and railroad whistles - you just don't hear those sounds in Michigan!
