However, I don't know if it was actually Bobby Driscoll's actual vocals that were used in the ride. In some cases, other voice actors were used to voice the characters in the attractions/rides, so I don't really know if he is the voice of Peter Pan in the ride or not.
As far as it's been noted, it appears they used his voice for the attraction.

After the park opened, Disney contracts included clauses that allowed them to use their product beyond the films, including in the park. Peter Pan pre-dates that, and Disney was notoriously cheap back then. Sometimes, it was cheaper to pay some unknown voice actor to mimic the character rather than pay the original actor the rights to use it or to have them re-perform it.

Was...? Is! Though they aren't alone, remember that Battlestar Galatica movie they made where it was comprised of stuff from the cutting room floor? :D

The reason that it probably was the original for peter pan was that those lines were probably recorded from the original film and either harvested out or not used at all. That and junkies are cheap :D

Oh I forgot, this was also probably back when actors were not making nearly as much as they do today and were treated like drones, and then the fan mail started...

Actually, when doing many of the rides, many of the imagineers were used as un-paid voice actors to record many of the dialogue over. That remained a tradition up through POTC and the HM and into EPCOT. So while it may sound like the original actor, it may not be. Just a good mimic (and a good chance wasn't paid for it either...)

That's the story for DLR (I'm assuming WDW too) that it will stay until they are ready to put in the new film, however long that may be.

I don't think they've really said if they plan on putting anything at DLR but I'll keep an eye out.

That makes sense, otherwise there would just be an empty shell and we know how WDW despises having those in EPCOT

Given how Disney is spending money on other things (DCA, Fantasyland Expansion, etc.) I expect Captain Eo to be there for a looooooooong time. Even if it drags in less audience than ETR: UNM it will stay there rotting away...

When they were doing interviews with the press at DLR, they were speaking with a local news monkey and they noted it was a limited engagment that was to run while they worked on the new movie. I will try and find the source/clip for it over the weekend.

I remember for the millenium they billed the Tapestry of Nations as a "limited engagement" for the millenium celebration only, and it lasted there for years. Depends on how many years it takes to work up a new movie. I wonder which movie franchise they will use to make the new film?
