I was invited to the Family Museum by Curator but alas I can't make it that weekend. I will go later in the year or early next year. As for the Expo, I probably won't go now, since the stuff i am interested in will be happening on the day I leave.

That's too bad :(

There's good stuff happening the day before we get there and the day we leave, but I'm looking at it as it will give us more time to see all the other exhibits and things going on and myabe we won't feel so rushed. (plus we're thinking that as it gets closer, Disney will announce more entertainment/speakers to drum up more hype)

Oh, I have heard some great stuff is gonna happen at the EXPO! How I wish I could go too!

I was listening to the Magical Definitions podcast yesterday, and it's the one with Jim Hill and Nathan Rose. (link) It's the August 9th one.
http://www.magicaldefinition.com/disney ... ctory.aspx

Jim Hill said, that all the departments want in on this and they are pulling all the strings to get into the EXPO, so he said, they are putting a huge Blue Sky area, and a really good view of Cars Land in the EXPO.

If your remotely intrested in the EXPO, it's worth a listen. You can take or leave Jim Hill...some like him others don't believe a word he says.

The Disney Family Museum has a web page too. Good stuff here.

We won't be in the area for the expo or museum opening, but we did go to the museum website and purchase the museum book. They'll send it to us after the opening, so that will be a nice package to get later.

I hadn't heard about the museum. I'll have to look into it. I think I have to go to LA soon anyway, so we'll see. I'd like to go to both, but I don't think that's going to happen.

The Walt Disney Family museum is located in San Francisco and will open October 1...unless you are one of the lucky D23 members to hold a ticket to the preview.

The D23 Expo takes place in Anaheim September 10-13...and it's going to be awesome!!!!! Can't wait!!!

Well looks like I'll be going to neither. :( I can't go to San Francisco and I have to be home when the D23 expo is on.

If there's no way you can make it to the museum, You can purchase the museum book online right now...though it stops selling online when the museum opens that you'll only be able to get the book at the actual museum site after that.

I thought the museum was separate from Disney?

It is separate from Disney, technically, but Disney still hosts the site.
