Well, after conferring with F1gment, we decided sometime in the 80's and/or 90's. I'm leaning more toward the 90's since I wouldn't have been paying much attention to baking in the 80's. Maybe it was only a midwest thing. I'm pretty sure you can still buy the little tiny bundt cake pans though.
Just like with many things they fall in and out of fashion, they are now the west coast trend and I would imagine still going east while small pies are moving west.

While helping Sleepy out on another thread, I came across the recipe for the Kitchen Sink dessert at the Beach Club's Beaches and Cream...anybody adventurous, or crazy enough, enough to try it?

The legendary Kitchen Sink dessert at Beaches and Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a gargantuan bowl, er, kitchen sink, overflowing with sugary treats. Here’s the list of what’s included:

½ cup fudge topping, warmed
½ cup butterscotch topping, warmed
½ cup peanut butter topping, warmed
1 medium banana, sliced in 1/2 –inch slices
1 cinnamon spice cupcake (2 ½ x 1 ¼-inch), quartered
1 angel food cupcake (3 x 1 ½-inch), quartered
2 4-oz. scoops vanilla ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops chocolate ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops strawberry ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop coffee ice cream
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
¼ cup marshmallow crème
¼ cup strawberry topping
¼ cup pineapple topping
1 14-oz can dairy whipped topping
1 brownie (6-inch x 6-inch), quartered
1 regular-sized (2 ounce) candy bar, quartered
4 chocolate cookies with cream filling
1 tablespoon sliced toasted almonds
1 tablespoon dark and white chocolate shavings
1 tablespoon chocolate cookies with cream filling, crushed

We talk about this all the time and say everytime we visit WDW, we want to try the Kitchen Sink! I think we would need some help though, I love ice-cream, but geez!!!

Ok, those of you with little school-age children, this is a really cute bento box lunch...but who would take time to do this?!

That's actually not as inovled as some boxes go. If you've got the skill to make them, you can but I think a lot of the ones with the interesting designs fall into 2 categories: either as a showpiece done once or something that a store sells to gain attention and customers.

Wow! Well, the Toy Story box was aimed toward the make-it-home crowd so I'm guessing they think there are really nice parents out there who will take the time to make the fancy aliens...

Really? Shouldn't food be there to be eaten?

That toy story bento technically goes against the rules of kyaraben (apparently a combo of character and bento) of using only edible parts since it uses uncooked pasta. I was just looking it up and apparently it's a way to get kids to try different foods. It's kind of like the windowless van with offers of free candy for getting in. :D

One of my piano students loves uncooked pasta. Every once in a while that will be his after school snack, a handful of uncooked macaroni

I'm thinking that too. Plus the sound it makes when he chews is horrendously loud
