Disney Parks commercial: HORRIBLE INACCURACIES!

Post by annafab » Apr Mon 20, 2009 9:47 pm

lol That might be a little dramatic.

BUT

I live out here on the West Coast and there's this Disney Parks commercial that starts out with little Dumbos flying over Cinderella's castle (in WDW) AND THEN it goes to a family looking at prices on a computer for Disneyland! Every time it comes on I start ranting and then my roommate tells me that "normal" people wouldn't notice such an error. *sigh*

But you all understand, right? lol

I haven't seen that commercial annafab, but that would annoy me as well! But, we're not really "normal" are we?! I'm just fine with it too, I'm proud to say I'm a Disney nut!!! :figment:

I haven't seen that commercial but I'd be raising an eyebrow at that.

I don't do much regular TV which might be why I haven't seen it, but yes, I'd be going "What the Peter Pan is this crap?" if I saw it. Always throw Peter in there when I'm annoyed. :mickey:

I thought that didn't look right. However, to the average person, this can easily be overlooked. I guess it might have been an attempt by Disney to showcase multiple parks.

You think that's bad? The "Por favor..." shirt had "Walt Disney World" at the bottom and Sleeping Beauty Castle in the background! This was sold at WDW if I am not mistaken!

Yeah that and during the Year of a million dreams they had nothing but Cinderella castle on everything. And don't get me started on all the merch that has gone generic.......PONCHOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But theBIGyowski is right that one he posted is really bad.

Well, Cinderella Castle is better than the rest of them.

I have that shirt! It is a terrible inaccuracy but it is still an awesome shirt. I wonder if they had the same shirt in Disneyland and just put Disneyland resort on the bottom?

It is a shame that park merchandise has become so generic but I guess it is a big cost cutting measure.

Oh I love the shirt too Len...wish I had one. I just found it a little funny that they would make that big of a mistake. I have yet to hear of the same shirt with "Disneyland" on it.

In regard to the generic printing of things during YOAMD, the refillable mugs also had a common printing at all the resorts. It was rather dull as it removed the connection to the resort at which you stayed, where the mug in previous years would be a nice souvenir from your resort.
Are we there yet? When can we go back?

I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

I also haven't seen the commercial, but it sounds like somethig I would get outraged over and start ranting about while my wife gave me that look indicating that I am completely INSANE.

I'm kind of glad I haven't seen it yet. The above scenario plays itself out enough at our house!
