We just missed it by a year ... could have had two free admissions our last trip!

For those of you who are AP holders, you can also receive a Birthday Fun Card, essentially a gift card good for the amount of a base ticket that can only be spent on your birthday. (check out the FAQ section on the official site)

What about this whole deal that they're coming to Minneapolis? I still don't quite understand how this fits with Cheshie's earlier find.

I haven't decided what I think about this one. It's an interesting idea, but won't apply for me.

Hmm, too bad my birthday is so far from nancynohorse's. That would make it far more cost-effective for us.

Well...my birthday is December 27th...pretty much the most expensive time to stay at WDW...so it's not really worth the free ticket. I did the whole Bday and New Years thing 7 years ago and while it was fun, it was way too crowded and the lines were quite long. Cool thing though was that the parks reached capacity at 11:00 AM on New Years Eve...which was something I never thought I would get to see...WDW at capacity!

I got my certificate printed out already. Too bad I probably won't be down there in Dec 2009, but it's nice to have just in case!!

Ooo. Well it's nice of them to acknowledge people who already have tickets covering their birthday. At first I figured they'd cheap out on it and give you ... Iunno ... a hat or something, but they have these listed in the FAQ:
Q: I am a Passholder (or have a valid Multi-Day Ticket or a Seasonal Pass that I will use for admission on my birthday in 2009), so I don't need to take advantage of this offer. If I register, is there anything else I could receive on my birthday?

A: Yes, you have several options which are available for you to select once you arrive at the Park with your confirmation message and your proper ID. You can receive:

* A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use on your birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities at select participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or
* A special birthday FASTPASS® badge+ for certain attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday; or
* A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday. *Ticket price at gate, excluding tax. Adults receive card in the amount of an adult ticket; children (ages 3-9) receive card in the amount of a child ticket. For terms and conditions of the card and details on participating locations, click here.

+The number of birthday FASTPASS badges issued is limited and may not be available after 11am. Valid Theme Park admission required. FASTPASS for birthday celebrant and up to 5 members of his/her party.
Not too shabby. :)

It also said in there that you don't -have- to register, it just saves you time filling in forms at the gate. Read: "Please please register because OMG the lines".

Any ideas on what they do on the road tour? I'm definitely going to try to go to the one near me, but they don't really explain what goes on, so I don't quite know what to expect...

That is kind of weird, but I'm guessing that they are still working on getting that part of the website up and still working out all the details. They probably won't have a huge turn-out at any of the events unless they put up at least a few more details.... :)

Thanks for the link, Cheshie. Does anyone know where they're having the celebrations? I mean, it just says Minneapolis. Am I just missing where to find the details of specific location in Mpls?

No way in the world we'll be able to get there for my birthday. :( I think that would be the ultimate birthday celebration though!

I wish I lived only 3.5 hours away. The 16 hour drive wears me out!

I get in for free anyway being a Cast Member soooo I get nothing out of this anyway but I guess it's a nice small promotion to have in between before the next big celebration which should be WDWs 40th Anniversary
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Should I be insulted that Disney spelled the location wrong for the tour coming to Minneapolis? They spelled it Nicolette Mall, whereas it is correctly spelled Nicollet Mall. Sigh...maybe I'm just bitter because I work near St. Paul and can't get to Mpls during the middle of the day. :(
