I've walked off Spaceship Earth. It was amazing seeing it with the lights on! This was before the renovation and it did make me appreciate the updates even more (the lights really showed the age).

Once off Spaceship Earth, many people ran over to the customer service counter - perhaps they thought they could get something for their trouble?

This isn't my experience. My mother went to MK at WDW for Christmas in '78. While she was in the park it began storming, she ducked into one of the stores on Main Street to get out of the rain. All of a sudden she heard this terrible noise when she looked outside the Christmas tree has snapped and fallen over. She doesn't think anyone was injured, but Disney crew kept people away from the area the rest of the day. She has some pictures, but they are 12 hours from me and she can't turn on a computer let alone scan a picture. I will try to get them though it's wicked to see.

Sad isn't it. When did we trade in our pride for entitlement?

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Orlando broke down at the very end of one time. This was like, immediately before the fireworks. We had do disembark just before the final turn and walk to the exit.

I very nearly bent down just to feel the track. But I was scared that it was powered....

And, there's the story of when World of Motion was closing down. It had fallen into disrepair, but Disney turned it on for a last, symbolic run with various GM employees on board. It broke down midway through that run, and the bigwigs had to hike the rest of the way through it. Given how often Test Track comes to full stop, I would say that ground's cursed by now....

I just came back from WDW and experienced some minor issues that were handled with ease by the cast members. The first one happened on Buzz Lightyear again. The ride had to stop. The lasers were still active so I was benefiting hitting the target right in front of me. The announcements were immediate and the ride started moving within a minute.

The second instance was on the Haunted Mansion. After getting out of the stretching room there was a line and the ride was stopped. Nobody said anything and 5 minutes later the ride was moving again.

Final instance came on the Kilamanjaro Safari. We ended up getting stuck due to some Ostriches in the road. The entire attraction came to a halt since they were sitting in the road. I was in the front row and heard the radio chatter from the driver directly behind the ostriches. Our driver just played it cool and started talking to us. She even started joking around with us saying that they really meant it was a two and a half week safari and who brought dinner for tonight. However, she was keeping her eye on the two rhino who were standing 20-25 ft to our right. It was amazing how calm she was even though we were stopped in a bad place.

I haven't had anything that I really got annoyed at - and i've never been evacuated from a ride at WDW (so far)... The only slightly disappointing thing that happened (which we laugh about now) was that on our first ride of Test Track, we got stopped right at the scary/climatic part of the ride (which I won't mention in case someone that hasn't been on the ride is reading) and saw the car in front of us - so there was no AAAAAHHH moment for us. (However, they did give us a ride around the track without having to get back in line - or even asking, so we were happy.)

Maybe not a Disney ride, but me and my sisters got stuck on ET at Universal a few years ago. We were just into it near where the flashlights in the forest are. It was about 15 minutes before people came around to escort us off the ride. Then they did something that I've never done on a Disney ride walk-off: They let us walk through the entire attraction (up until the water area) before leading us out an emergency exit. Everytime I've had to walk off of a Disney ride, they just chose the closest exit.

How about getting stuck on Its a Small World? Anyone for that?
We sort of got stuck on Small World the boats were bumper to bumper and about 6 boats were waiting for about 3 minutes.

We also got stuck in Munchkin Land on GMR that was really funny. Humans appeared from behind the houses in Munchkin Land with spanners and screw drivers.

We also got stuck in HM in the Giant Spider bit - I hate spiders and the dark and my husband and son who were in the doom buggy in front wouldn't answer me when I asked were they OK.

Back in 1999/2000 I was stuck on SE for over 30 min. We were getting very figgity and bored and peopl were talking car to car. We were in the middle of the decent right where the colored filiments changed on the ceiling as they go around the sphere that was of to the right. I had some bags of crazy flavored chips I had purchased in Japan so we began to eat them. Other people could smell them so they asked to try them. I never saw the bag again cause it was passed up, and up, and up....byt the time we had to walk off i saw two kids eating my chips! I was very PO, but they at least gave me $5.00 and apologized. They thought it was a gift from EPCOT for being stuck so long. Normally I would not have cared, but when youre a college student every penny(and chip!) counts!
