I know for one thing, that they change around the music a bit. They might also decorate the attraction... I personally don't know since I have never been there during the holidays.Clusty wrote:I've never been on it at Christmas. As for my ultimate retirement job, I would have to say Haunted Mansion. I could work on the attraction and then become the 1,000th happy haunt.

I'd like to do that myself, but I'm not sure I can handle all the other things they do beyond singing (tap dancing, organ chimes, and such).David wrote:My absolute Disney dream job would be to sing with the Dapper Dans on Main Street. I sing in a Barbershop Quartet and whenever we visit WDW, I always find the guys and will sing a song with them when they have finished their set.
My wife and I are quite serious about moving to Orlando when we retire in about 8 years and working for the Mouse. From time to time there are auditions for the Dans and I hope to give it a shot when retirement comes!
Gotta have a dream.....
I'm looking forward to singing with them some day (maybe my next visit), but I should probably join the BHS first and find a group to practice with.

It's really beautiful, It's lit up all over and they change the song to include Christmas music so you're not hearing the same tune through the whole thing. Here's a video:I've never been on it at Christmas. What's it like?

This is a fun thread --- I've actually thought about this a couple of times.
I would like to be a disney princess, but since I'd be retired I guess I'd be too old for that! Instead I would like to be one of the drivers on the Safari ride at AK...I think it would be nice to be outside and seeing the animals all day. Plus that ride really is better when you have a good driver.

Here's one no one seems to have mentioned yet, which is good for me because that means there won't be much competition for my dream job: I want to be a guide for one of the charter bass fishing excursions that run out of Fort Wilderness!
Just think: I would get to cruise around in a bass boat and teach people how to fish, and get paid for it! Oh, yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about....!
Barring that, I would want to work with the imagineers in some way involving creating and maintaining attractions.... you know, McGyver/Bob Villa kind of stuff.... that's me all over....

If you work on IASW for any long period of time couldn't you get a mental disability?PureDisney wrote:Clusty - Good Point I wouldn't want to work either...except maybe at Christmas time. The only ride I wouldn't want to work in is It's a Small World.
I have a very close friend who has been with WDW for almost 20 years now. I told him about this thread. His dream retirement is getting away from WDW and living in Indiana!! How that Babe? Is he sick or what? I must say he is an Indiana native.
