Really simple question. Anyone else doing the Magic Med trip this summer? My wife and I are on the 16 June one.

I wish. We last cruised in September of 2005, our 2nd.
I LOVE the Disney Cruise Line, more so than the parks.

I'm hoping to go back in 2010. I'm trying to be realistic about frequency.

If you read some of the posts about the trans-atlantic on Disboards. I'm kinda worried right now. We have already run into problems and we haven't left yet. We signed up for an excursion though DCL, and they booked us on a flight that go IN 10 minutes after the excursion was due to leave. Then they told us "Oh you have to file a deviation, and those were due 90 days before departure."

1. we did the excursion though DCL
2. we couldn't sign up for the excursions more than 60 days before
3. you didn't tell us what our flights where going to be till 45 days before.

so I was like what did the diversion have to say? Since based on that schedule there was no way to tell them what flights we needed before they told us what the flights they scheduled us on.

On the repositioning cruise, people said the soda was flat because they didn't put on enough carbonated water for the cruise. Mousekeeping didn't replace toiletries if you didn't ask. Kitchen/wait staff problems... it was really sad sounding.

That is so unlike any experience we've had. I know the repositioning cruises were long for the staff. We were the first 7-day after the Magic was repositioned back to Florida in 2005. The staff said 14 days seemed long with the same guests and they were ready to be back in port.

I don't know if the longer cruises mess with their time off or "hours off" in reality? That's unfortunate. Only doing the Carribean cruises we haven't had to deal with the complexities that you are and both experiences were very "magical" down to every little detail.

Mousekeeping was maticulous (all 3 times the visited each day), room service was quick and courteous, wait staff was exceptional, etc.

How long is your trip? Hopefully the repositioning cruises have taught them a few things so you won't have the problems.

I'd like to do the west coast or 10-day Christmas cruise sometime as well.

It's an 11 Day cruise in the med. Every 3 weeks they are doing 2 cruses, so it's 11day, 10day, 11day...

I've been reading several blogs about the first 11 day. Which started on Friday. So far most the blogs are talking about what they are seeing, and photos. Not a lot of information about "how" the cruise is going.

Oh wow, I just noticed the change in the board name. I've never been on a cruise, but it looks like fun. Have a good trip! :D

Yep I asked Subsonic today where DCL postings go. He said I was reading too much into the titles/descriptions. But he updated the forum name.

The good news is, they should have it figured out before you go. You'll have to a trip report when you get back and share photos. It sounds like a great trip.
