What would you change back?

In relation to Disney Parks but not specific to a single resort

What would you change back?

Post by DisBeamer » Apr Sun 22, 2007 2:11 am

I was thinking about this tonight while listening to the original Tiki Room track. If you all could undo any 'upgrade' or replacement Disney has made in any of the parks, what would it be (if anything)?

Mine, probably obvious from the first line, would be to put the Tiki Room at WDW back under 'old management'. I like Zazu and Iago okay, and the goddess AA is neat, but I infinitely prefer the old show.

Definitley Journey Into Imagination and Horizons, they were like the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean of epcot. Plus that JII turntable was ahead of its time and defintiley has/still would have had a 'wow' effect for me, same with the 'choose your own tomorrow' ending from Horizons.

I would probably have to go with the Tiki Room. I could not stand the "New Management" version the last time we were there and found myself rolling my eyes throughout half the show and wishing for the original to still be there.

Journey Into Imagination is another one that I wish could be returned to its original state. I must admit, the current incarnation that's in there now with Figment is much better than the first time they changed it, but the original still trumps them all.

For me it would have to be Horizons. I was only able to experience it once and I was extremely disappointed when I went back after several years and it was gone forever.

I'd love to see Mr Toad's Wild Ride at WDW again.

I was only able to see the original Journey Into Imagination once and I remember loving it. The new version is alright and I have some good memories with it, but I'd love to see the original again.

Mine would be Journey into Imagination, Alien Encounter, and bring back the Sky buckets (not sure about the name) to WDW.

I would replace the Under New Management with the original Tiki Room attraction, or I would get rid of the eye-sore Mickey wand at Epcot. I really dislike both of those things, but you can't avoid seeing the huge wand.

I'd probably revert everything to the way it was 15 years ago and then progress forward learning from all the many mistakes made in that time. Imagine how nice Tomorrowland could look if someone actually put some planning into it!

I think with the technology today, Adventures Through Inner Space could be so amazing.

Rides shouldn't have been replaced, they should have been upgraded. I like Cheshire Cat's analogy of Horizons being the POTC of EPCOT. If Disney upgraded the AA to the technology of Timekeeper, Jack Sparrow, or the Bride in Haunted Mantion (DLR) Horizons would be so neat. Disney needs to take a very hard look at what the words Theming and Quality means and stick to that.

Many things, but to pick one, I would say Journey Into Imagination.

That's what I was thinking. Bring the Peoplemover back to Status: Exists.

And put the loop back in Big Thunder.
