Hello!
Disney World is "two words" and is more properly called Walt Disney World. Disneyland is "one word" and is never called Walt Disneyland. How come? Any thoughts?

The "Walt" was Roy's idea after Walt died. It was to honor him.

The separate words is probably just a style choice. Walt Disneyworld doesn't look good. Walt Disney World does.

Also it isn't 1 land it is made up of other lands Like Animal Kingdom, Epot (center), Magic Kingdom Just to name a few. so Disney World just fits.

"Roy O. Disney, Walt Disney's older brother, dedicated the property and declared that it officially would be known as "Walt Disney World" in his brother's honor. In his own words: "Everyone has heard of Ford cars. But have they all heard of Henry Ford, who started it all? Walt Disney World is in memory of the man who started it all, so people will know his name as long as Walt Disney World is here." After the dedication, Roy Disney asked Walt's widow, Lillian, what she thought of Walt Disney World. According to biographer Bob Thomas, she replied, "I think Walt would have approved."

It was very sad that Walt never got to see his ultimate vision.

After reading a few biographies of Walt and Roy, I want to emphasize how much of a role Roy played as well. Roy came out of retirement to finish Walt Disney World after Walt's death. Roy then died himself of a brain hemorage less then 2 months after the opening.

Uh, isn't Roy still alive?

Roy E. Disney is, but Roy O. (Roy E.'s father) isn't.

I think the easiest answer is that they just are that way.

The official names are "Disneyland" (not "Disney Land" or "DisneyLand") and "Walt Disney World."... that's just the way it is

Just think if this had been built in the '90's it would've been called "Disneyland Florida"

Disneyland Resort Orlando, more likely, since they tend to be named after the nearest city, rather than the country/state/whatever.. Still a hideous thought, though.
