Disney Cash Dividend

Post by rdeacon » Nov Thu 30, 2006 10:21 am

For all you financial geeks:

The Walt Disney Company wrote:The Walt Disney Company Board Declares Annual Cash Dividend of $0.31 Per Share

November 28, 2006 -- The Walt Disney Company board Tuesday declared an annual cash dividend of $0.31 per share, a 14.8% increase from last year’s dividend, payable on January 12, 2007 to shareholders of record at the close of business December 15, 2006.

The January dividend payment represents the 51st consecutive year of dividend payments to shareholders.

“I’m delighted to report that 2006 was another great year for Disney by almost every measure. We delivered 34% growth in earnings per share, record revenue and record net income,” said Bob Iger, president and CEO of the Walt Disney Company. “We also generated over $6 billion in operating cash flow – another record. That cash flow allows us to invest in initiatives to drive growth, maintain a strong balance sheet and return value to investors through share repurchases and dividends.”

Woo Hoo I'm getting money, lots of money. I wish they would split the stock so I can get more shares. Maybe it will pay for a trip, I'm sure Disney would love that giving money to a shareholder and getting it back within a year only to do it again and again.

It's good to know that Disney Stock is going back up. Maybe those penny pinchers will realize that making quality attractions and parades actually DOES bring them back money.

My daughter thinks it is cool that she will get a check for 31 cents for her one share of stock. :D

I got mine on the 20th in the mail, I like seeing it before I go to the bank. I got $351.54 which helps pay for my next Disneyland Trip. Darn I have to renew my AP in Feb. so I guess it will go towards that.

Unfortunately, it also teaches them that peeing all over WDW is remarkably profitable...

I'm guessing my brother wont have as much as that. He got a framed share for his 21st, a gimick really, something nice to look at on his wall. Obviously one share isn't really an investment. He just keeps all his little cheques. It's not really worth cashing them. He does like getting the yearly reports and stuff though! :D

See I have a lot of stock in general but I would love what he got. A framed Disney Stock........I need to request that. I have only ever gotten stock online through etrade and others so I never actually see paper stock only digital.
