Yes I have the new maps, and yes they are pretty pathetic now days.

If they went with a decent booklet people might not throw so many away and the costs might actually go down.

Then again three folds costs much less than anything stapled, even though its way less cool.

I have many of the maps over the year and it makes me light up to go through and see the park change over the years and remind me of a spacific trips adventure.
I also have the framed 50th pin collectors map on my wall.
Yes, this is my happy place! Well, when not in my happy place.

I have barely begun this trend, about a year ago, when I first got my AP. I still have an old DCA map though. I do study them too! :D

Yes, I collect the maps. usually just the main parks at WDW (sometimes downtown but not usually). I like to see how the parks have changed over the years.

I started doing this when I was an adult. I had to resort to eBay to find the ones that came out when I was younger (I only collect the years I've gone - I don't think I'll bother with other years).

The maps weren't good back in the 70s, but they were booklets and gave ride descriptions. I still remember being on a plane with my brother as we reviewed a borrowed booklet in order to pick the rides we wanted to go on - we were limited based on the number of tickets my parents bought - the booklets listed the cost (A - E).

It's so funny, the other day, My dad found a big bag of old maps, and tickets from our older trips from 1993, and 1994. Ah, it was good times reading about the "NEW" rides at the time and the rides that are no longer with us.

I have a lot of old mps, I won't part with them but it would be interesting to see how much they are going for, on E-bay and other places as well.

The new DL/DCA booklet is quite nice, much better than they've been for the past few years and a far cry from those giant foldout ones.

Hehehe .. I'm one of those people who buy them on ebay (from time to time, anyway). I actually collect all kinds of Disney ephemera, mainly maps but also brochures, like the old ones they had for the individual hotels and golf courses and whatnot at WDW, dining guides, tickets, bags, the individual hotel stationery and so on. I love scanning through ebay to find really 'old' printed Disney stuff. I'm pretty sure my husband things it's odd that I get so excited over a copy of "The Disney Look" circa 1982... it probably is.

Here's one that I don't think others have done or maybe they have. Have you ever collected all of the different language ones????? I have all of them for the past 2 years now and I plan on continuing this until I get kicked out of the parks for it.

I have a collection of Disney Park maps, too.. So far, I have..

Disneyland Paris (2001), Disneyland Park Paris (2004), Walt Disney Studios Park Paris (2004), Hong Kong Disneyland (Autopia opening version from summer 2006), Walt Disney World (MK, Epcot, MGM, DAK and DTD) from November 2006 and Disneyland Resort from early 2007. By the end of next month, I'll have 15th anniversary Disneyland Paris ones, too :)

Most of them are situated on my wall: http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/stuff/disneymaps.jpg
