Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom but do you think?

Post by Just Believe » Oct Mon 02, 2006 9:12 pm

I'm not sure how to do a poll but what do you think?

DISNEYLAND

I'm a native to DIsneyland but it truly captures the imagination of Walt and his spirit. This was his Laughin' Place!!!
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

Don't compare those two! They both have their strong and weak points. I've been to both many times, and see them as separate, magical places.

I think when you compare Disneyland to just the Magic Kingdom, it's an easy win for DL... there is SO MUCH MORE to do it's insane.

I like the fact that it is all in one place and I don't have to take transportation to MGM, MK or Epcot......I just run as fast as I can to get to my fav rides in every corner of the park.

DL for me, and I only really started going to DL on a regular basis since July 16th, 2005, it just has a better feel for me. I go to MK once a year and DL once a year, and I have to say I look forward to the DL trip more (if you take away the MNSSHP, that is the real reason I go to WDW in Oct). If I only had one trip a year or even every five years it would be DL for these reasons:

1) It feels cozier. It isn't as wide open as MK, which was built for strollers and volume.
2) Has the original rides WALT worked on.
3) Has a better POTC doesn't feel as rushed.
4) Hotels are within walking distance.
5) I've found it is cheaper for me to go to DL than to WDW each year and I'm on the Eastcoast.
6) IT HAS NEW ORLEANS SQUARE need I go on.

After thinking about it(during class), I've decided Disneyland > Magic Kingdom. It's just that more magical for me.

But it still bugs me when people ask which is better, WDW or DLR. Especially if the person asking hasn't been to one of them or neither. It's a very personal and subjective question for everyone. Meh.

I hear you LST... I'm in a weird position, because I prefer Disneyland to any park at WDW... certainly, for me, DL > MK...

But WDW is so... immersive and huge. Until the new plans for DCA get to happenin', well, DLR will have a very hard to time holding a candle to the grandeur of WDW.

I agree. There seems to be some key differences, i.e. Magic Kingdom has more space to use, Disneyland is the original, etc.

But with that said, after going to both enough I still like Disneyland. There is something about it. I feel a little more immersed in the themes of each land.

LOL this is the second time I quoted you today! I guess I just happen to agree with you about everything today so far.

Magic Kingdom could never compare to the happiest place on earth. DL's magic is much more prominent then MK's.
