Yes we did. But next time we're staying at the Contemporary. Aren't we, Samdu? We will because I'll be making the reservations!!! Buwahahaha!

I am a huge fan of the Beach Club at WDW. The best pool at any resort, plus Epcot with a "private" entrance and the Boardwalk view at night from across the lake.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

How is the Paradise Pier hotel? I'm staying with my family there in a few weeks and we've never stayed there before.

I've liked it! It's the more basic out of the three Disneyland hotels, but it makes it a little nice. There can be very nice views of the park from it. It's a little easier to get to from the parks in comparison to Disneyland Hotel. The only downside is that it's not quite the same atmosphere as you'd get from the other hotels. I usually prefer it over DL Hotel, though.

Is it true the Paradise Pier Hotel is far away from the Main Entrance though? I hear you can go through the Grand Californian as a shortcut.

It's not as far as DL Hotel (unless you take the Monorail). I usually do the shortcut through the Grand Californian, both because it's a shortcut, and that hotel is great to wander around and look at.

Believe it or not, we stayed at "POPS Century" and had a great time. And will stay here the next time, for the price, can't beat it. :mickey:

I have stayed in All-Star Music, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. My favorite is The Wilderness Lodge. That hotel is so awesome. My next trip to WDW I am staying in a suite. :mickey: :mickey:

I just came back from staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel. It wasn't too bad. Walking through the Grand Californian to Downtown Disney was easy. I think next time I want to try the Grand Californian though. (It looked so nice!)

Have they 'themed' Paradise Pier much? When we were out there, just after Disney had purchased the hotel in 1997 or so, it just looked like a regular hotel with Disney's name stamped on it.

Can someone help me understand the "level" of hotel at DL? They have 3 hotels, Disneyland Hotel (the original), Paradies Pier or whatever the 2nd hotel was they acquired and the Grand Californian.

Obviously the Grand Galifornian would be your "deluxe" accommodations (especially with a private gate to CA). How do the other two compare/fall?

I stayed at the Disneyland hotel in 1996 and loved it, it seemed pretty nice even for its age.

There were pictures of the Paradise Pier in California Adventure, but I didn't notice too much "theme" in the Paradise Pier Hotel.

My WDW Rankings:

1) Beach Club (great pool, great access, Beaches & Cream on your doorstep)
2) Boardwalk (great theming, great access)
3) Wilderness Lodge (awesome lobby)
4) Grand Floridian (oozes grandeur to the point of being a little too shi-shi for its own good)
5) Swan (great beds and access, but didn't have that magical Disney sense)

My DL Rankings:
1) Grand Californian (can't beat location and cool lobby)
2) Disneyland (kudos to the original)
