Best Disney Hotel?

Post by Just Believe » Oct Mon 02, 2006 7:43 pm

I LOVE the Grand Californian Hotel at DL. For you natives to WDW this is nothing like the Grand Flordian. It has a simularity to the Wilderness Lodge. The hotel is inspired by the Yosemite Lodge in Yosemite National Park but more luxurious. The best part is, it's right in the middle of the whole resort. Giving only seconds to go to California Adventure, a skip to Downtown DIsney and barely a stroll to Disneyland. I LOVE IT
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

While I think the Grand Californian hotel is themed very nice, I like the look of the Wilderness Lodge better. The larger and taller lobby with everything looking like trees is a sight to see.

I haven't stayed in either place yet, but my fiancee and I were blown away by both the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian... I've stayed at the GC, and while the location can't be beat, I found staying there to be nothing all that special...

i'm staying at Old Key West...i'll report when i get back.

I've stayed at All-Star Music and Movies...both identical but Movies seems to have more busses running as well as direct runs (no stops at other resorts) time to get to a park from the all-stars is average 20-30 minutes counting the wait at the stop. at least thats in October and November.

I've stayed at the Saratoga Springs Resort. It was sweet! The atmosphere, the spacious and era-themed rooms, not to mention the 24 hour convenience store. It was within walking distance to Downtown Disney as well.

I want to stay at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Grand Californian one day.

Contemporary and Boardwalk. I'm sure the GF is really nice but when I go I usually don't hang around the resort much so I might feel the extra money would be a waste for me. :mickey:

It's funny, I think that's most people's response... it's not that they don't like the GF, they just think it's way too expensive...

I think some people don't think of it in the same way because it's the priciest (though, only a smidge more than the Poly)

I've stayed at BWI and it is awesome... I think next time the little lady and I go, we're going to try to stay at the YC...

I like the Grand Californian as well. I've stayed at DL Hotel, Paradise Pier, and the Yacht Club, Boardwalk Villas, Contemporary, and All Stars when I've been to Florida (okay, so that's a long list), but I still would rather have the Grand Californian than any of those. It could be the location is part of the reason. I mean, you practically walk right outside to DCA or Downtown Disney!

Thank YOU!!! The Grand Californian's convience is UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!   Talk about convient when the hotel is within walking distance of every place in the resort.!!! 8)

I guess it's my turn to quote you...

If there's anything that I could complain about the Grand Californian is that it does take a bit of walking to Disneyland. But it's still better than, say, the Boardwalk or Yacht Club to Epcot.

hmmm this is a hard one.. so many great hotels

I would have to say for me the best is Wilderness Lodge...

Great themeing, great architecture, just all around cool.

Plus you can't beat an erupting geyser!
