I've been complaining (I seem to do this alot lately) that Disney has, in the past few years, lacked vision and been basing too many attractions on "what's popular now"

Now that I think about it, there seems to be a 5-7 year gap in attractions based on movies. Which further prooves my point of "Disney recently is going with what's popular now". Some of my friends favorite Disney films are Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast. Where are those attractions? These characters are in the parades and shows, but that's all. Fantasyland has attractions from plenty of older movies, they need to continue that trend and build more based on these other classics. With newer technology of course!

I am all for adding new attractions, but they better leave my Alice In Wonderland, Snow White, Peter Pan and Mr. Toads rides alone! Or I will stand on Harbor Blvd and picket!!!

Yeah I would love to see rides based on those movies. In my eyes they are classics even though they are not that old. But where would we put them it seems space inside the park is getting too tight as it is.

So really, the underrepresented time period is the 60s-80s... some memorable films from that time period...

The Jungle Book would be a fun one to ride through or swing through on tree vines

They do have the little mermaid show, though.

at WDW, they have a Little Mermaid show, and in both Epcot and Animal Kingdom they have the lion king.

And a Lion King show, and a Pocahontas show... but we were specifically looking at "rides"... even little ones like Heimlich's Chew Chew Train and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin...

I think The lItlle mermaid has a short stint on 20000 leagues shortly before it closed down, but I could be mistaken.

As long as they aren't importing rides from other organizations like Six Flags or Universal, they are Disney attractions. And even when they are contrived (Dumbo, Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, etc) they do tend to be higher quality attractions than similar rides at other parks.

Your research supports my "guessing". Where are those attractions? Movies and shows don't count They could do a pretty sweet Beauty and the Beast attraction, a lot of magical things happen in that movie which could translate into great special effects.

And no, I wouldn't want to see attractions replaced, only additions. Though the ending of Snow White's Scary Adventures in DLR blows. It ends so abruptly.

Yah I would rather see the witch being tossed off the cliff as the ending.....but I think thats a bit much for the children of a lesser age than me

Does it end differently at MK? I always thought the suckitude was pretty even... i.e., high... on both versions of SWSA...

They de-scarified the WDW version about 10 years ago and tacked on this froo-froo ending that came out of nowhere...not sure how it compares to the DL version.

OMG! A Spiderman/Curse of Darkastle type ride would be awesome for Beauty and the Beast... it could be like a ride through Beast's castle or something
