In relation to Disney Parks but not specific to a single resort

If anybody's been an active member of this forums for over 2 months you'll know my views toward this. HM and POTC are perfect examples of what works. They weren't based on "What's popular now" and they cater to kids and adults. While attractions at the parks are improving they still aren't thinking long term. They are going with what's popular now. And until reading this thread it now occurs to me they are dumbing down attractions to be more kid based. This is definitely what Walt did not want.

It should be mandatory for those stupid penny pinching execs to read Disney forums!

oh I completly agree with that statement it would have themed better in Morrocco, giving Epcot the ride boost it needs.

While we are on the subject of Adventureland.
I've always thought the Jungle Cruise was dumb. even when i was 5 back in 1974 i thought it was a waste of time. hmmm looking at Rafiki waste-o-time land in Animal Kingdom i think i'm seeing a Pattern. laugh. why not change the theme of swiss family robinson to Tarzan? the Jungle Cruise could be updated to say a Brother Bear themed ride. but one thing for sure.(switching gears to fantasyland)...Its a small world...i havn't subjected my children to this ride nor will I ever. Then again if my children misbehave while on vacation perhaps i can use it as a form of punishment..."honey quit your whinning or we will go on the "its a small world ride!"....NO!!! daddy NO!!!!

What makes the jungle cruise funny is the CM operating the boat.

Walt himself said Disneyland will never be finished and Im sure if he had lived the same would be true for all the Disney theme parks. So I feel Disney adding these things is what should be done. These movies are a huge part of Disney now and yes they are geared toward kids but hey they are the future Disney NUTS that will take our place someday. If adding these things attracts our children then they have secured the Disney magic for the future.

Jungle Cruise rocks. You probably just got a dud skipper.

I'm happy with all the new rides, even if they lean heavily on characters.

I was going to start listing all the rides, but I feel like we've talked about all this before... :?

Jungle cruise at Disneyland got a slight upgrade with pirana. I thought the effect was great. I think if they took a little bit of time they could put some amazingly looking animatronics into Jungle Cruise and really spruce it up. They need to put in animals that can move from one place to another on a track through the bushes or something. Give a bigger sense of thrill. Add gorillas swinging from the trees in front of the boat.

Disney needs to put me in charge.

Hi all,

New poster here, but an old Disney fan. I thought I might throw in a few observations, for what they are worth. Over the years the thing that keeps bringing us back is the mix of rides they keep adding. Of all the parks we have gone to, Disney seems to have a good feel for the thrill ride to kiddy ride ratio. Now I agree some rides are in the wrong area, but as to the mix, the only dissapointment I have had is Stitch. I really feel they missed the boat, still to scary for the real little kids, but now not scary enough for us older kids ( I just hit 50 so I consider myself to be one of the big kids now ).

But look ToT, RnR, M:S, EE these are great big kid rides, meanwhile Aladin, Buzz, and Pooh are great for the littler ones. And remember, when Walt started Disneyland it was always a place to promote the TV shows and Movies that he was involved in.

Well nice site here, hope to see more of you all, Harry
