Given your sock status, I understand your point of view.sockfire wrote:I reject this totally.subsonic wrote:Regarding swimsuits...
Don't you folks shower after you get out of the pool? I always do, and I shower with my swimsuit. That's how it gets clean. What's with you folks using the washer at hotels for that? You're all fired!
I used to live in the South Pacific where I eventually came to accept that you don't need a machine to wash your clothes. It was a difficult thing for me, seeing as how it seemed to require more work on my part.
You can get your clothes wet, rub some soap or shampoo on them, squish them to make them sudsy, scrub with a hair brush if needed, and rinse. Takes like two minutes. Hang on the shower rod to drip dry and, voila, clean clothes.
This is more or less how most of the world washes clothes, I believe. At least for a few small things, it's easier and faster than waiting around the laundry room.
No, no... He's got a point.

We do, but my parents are DVC owners so its in room. We can do it overnight or at odd times as to not detract from the trip.
We didn't ever when staying at the hotel resorts prior.

I love when there are laundry facilities because that means less stuff to pack!

Like you know the meaning of "less stuff to pack."netslave wrote:I love when there are laundry facilities because that means less stuff to pack!
When we stay off property, we usually stay in a timeshare, and that means we have washers and dryers. When we stay at Disney (other than Old Key West), I don't usually deal with washing clothes. I'll just take enough with me.

Ok I might have been wrong in my earlier posts. I have to say I might want to check out the laundry facilities next trip. Especially after packing home and washing a weeks worth of laundry for five people. I still don't like the idea of washing while on vacation but it might be nice to not have so much laundry when I arrive home.

Wait a minute - thats not a good thing, is it?
A question for you "I wash my cloths in the shower people:"
How does this work for, I don't know, the rest of your cloths? We almost always stay over a few days. It would seem impractical to wash everything you need in the shower. We wear more the just bathing suits.
About packing wisely, We normally pack for two or three days more then we're planing to stay. It's just when you stay a week over you need to clean some stuff Have you ever tried packing two weeks worth of cloths for a family of four with, TWO teenagers? Good luck.

With kids you almost definately have to do laundry. While its not my fav thing to do, everyone appreciates a fresh pair of socks after walking the park all day. My crazy family will change socks 2-3 times in the course of a day. No way am I going to pack that many. Plus, at the Vacation Club resorts the laundry is free. In a one bedroom and up the units are in your room. In the studio you use the main laundry facility and only have to buy detergent!
